Six Year Old Kills Housemaid in Abia State, Nigeria


A six-year-old boy has erroneously killed a housemaid with the gun of his father in Aba, Abia State.
Police detectives from the Ogbor Hill Police Division, Aba, have commenced investigations into the killing.

It was gathered that the underage child reportedly picked the father’s gun from his bedroom, thinking that it was a toy gun and not knowing that it was loaded.

A man who lived in the wilds of Vietnam for more than 40 years has made an emotional trip back to his forest home. Ho Van Lang, 44, and his father Ho Van Thanh, 85, spent 41 years in the forests of the Tay Tra district of Quang Ngai. They fled their home following the war and set up in the forest, spending the next four decades learning to hunt, build shelters and fend for themselves.

Photos: Cultists kill 11 in Ogun to mark anniversary


No fewer than 11 persons have been killed by suspected cult members in Igode and Fakale communities in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Four persons were also injured while houses and cars were vandalised in the attack that lasted for about 10 hours.

Italian arrested for killing Nigerian, to face murder charges

An Italian football hooligan has been arrested and charged with murder after beating to death a Nigerian asylum seeker who reacted to racial insults against his partner, ANSA news agency reported on Thursday.

According to the La Repubblica newspaper, Emmanuel Chidi Nnamdi, 36, got into a fight on Tuesday after the man called his 24-year-old girlfriend, Chinyere, a “monkey”.

Lydia Cumming was fired by TV Azteca, who accused her of lacking professionalism, but the story soon overwhelmed the internet, inspiring dozens of memes.

The young reporter was sent to city of Puebla in central Mexico, which was inundated with floodwater.she said two local residents told her an elderly neighbor in a wheelchair who had been badly affected by the floods and they offered to carry her to the lady's home.

Ashley Gebbie had given birth just three weeks earlier when boyfriend Alan Crozier came home and attacker her in the early hours of the morning.

Woman Causes 7 HOUR Flight Delay Insisting On Immediate Divorce From Husband



Plane passengers had a fellow traveller to blame for a seven hour delay after she decided she didn't want to fly and demanded an immediate divorce .

Reports suggest the unnamed woman in her 40s boarded the aircraft with several hundred passengers flying from Moscow to Vladivostok, Russia. Shortly after, she apparently told cabin crew that she needed to get off the plane to change her relationship status.

A Chinese pensioner has successfully given birth to a boy at the age of 61. The baby, weighing 2,930 grams (103 ounces), was born at 39 weeks during a C-section in eastern China's Zhejiang Province on June 27, reported People's Daily Online. The mother, surnamed Zhang, decided to try for another baby after her only child died of illness, leaving her heart-broken.

His girlfriend went and mobilised her brothers who descended on Otto, falsely accused him of
stealing, stripped him naked and stoned him to death.

Storms kill over 3 persons, destroys 632 houses in Cross River



At least three persons died and no fewer than 632 houses destroyed by storms between January and June this year in Cross River, an official has said.

The Director General of Cross River State Emergency Management Agenc, Mr John Inaku, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Calabar on Tuesday that the windstorm resulted from the heavy rains in most communities in the state.

Cannabis 'ATMs' to open in Jamaica's airports so tourists can get hold of weed once they arrive



Jamaica is planning to open cannabis 'ATMs' in its airports - allowing tourists the chance to get hold of weed as soon as they arrive in the country. 

The country is looking at ways to cash in on the drug after it was decriminalised last February.
The Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA) has now started to look at ways to introduce these dedicated desks where visitors can pick up a licence for the 'good herb', Daily Mirror reports.

Antibodies found which 'neutralise' Zika virus: study


European scientists announced that they had discovered antibodies which attack Zika, a step they hope will pave the way for a protective vaccine against the brain-damaging virus.


The antibodies -- frontline soldiers in the immune system -- "efficiently neutralise" Zika in human cells in lab dishes, and are also effective against its cousin virus dengue, the team reported.

Woman mum dumps day-old baby inside canal in Ado-Ekiti

It was a rain of curses in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital yesterday where an anonymous mother dumped a day-old baby inside a canal located at Ijigbo-Atikankan junction.

The baby which still had his placenta intact was believed to have been dumped their shortly after delivery in the early hours of the day had died before daybreak.

As at 9.00 am when a huge crowd had massed at the scene to catch a glimpse of the dead baby, the body had become swollen.

Road construction causes accident on Lagos-Ibadan expressway, 18 feared dead



No fewer than eighteen passengers of a commercial bus and the driver lost their lives on Sunday as the bus had a head-on collision with a tanker on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, towards the Fidiwo/Ajebo area.

The bloody accident happened around 1pm at a section of the road where there is a diversion of traffic to a single lane, due to construction work on the road.

Senate passes bill compelling government to buy made-in-Nigeria products



The Upper Chamber of the National Assembly on Thursday passed into law the Public Procurement Act 20‎07 (amendment) bill 2016, which makes it mandatory for government agencies to patronize made-in-Nigeria goods.

The Act, which seeks to promote local content, is one of the priority bills of the Senator Bukola Saraki-led Senate.

The body of the missing 2-year-old boy has finally been located after an exhaustive search ... and after analyzing the remains, cops believe the alligator drowned the child.

TMZ reports the name of the boy was also released ... 2-year-old Lane Graves from Elkhorn, Nebraska -- and his parents, Matt and Melissa.The Orange County sheriff said Lane's body was located 10-15 yards from where he was pulled under water ... in about 6 feet of water. They said the body is still intact.
