The Actress was asked how she has been able to stay married, mother of two, Dakore Akande, who has been married for 5 years to Olu Akande, said;
"Yes, marriage is under siege but through a lot of prayer. Joint prayer. My husband and I, we make a point of duty to always pray together no matter the schedule.

We just identify that God is our mainstay and that He is the third cord in our strand. I realized that whenever we start to deviate from that is when trouble would come. God instituted marriage and the only way it is going to work is if we tap into that source, which is God.

The fate of 15 babies held with their mothers at the Federal Prisons Umuahia has become a source of concern following fears that their future could be jeopardised if they are nursed and raised in a harsh prison environment.

The National Coordinator of Child Rights Advancement and Protection Initiatives (CRAPI) Ozioma Patsy Onyenweaku raised the alarm yesterday at a press conference in Umuahia, stating that allowing babies to grow up in prison “will deny our society of sleep in the near future”.

The husband of an evangelist at a church in the Ijoko area of Ogun State, Segun Adebambo, and a trader, Saka Nasiru, were killed on Monday after a train crashed into a truck in the Pen Cinema area of Lagos.

Adebambo, a father of five who worked at the Computer Village, Ikeja, was said to have boarded the train at the Ikeja Along bus stop en route to his house in Ijoko, Ogun State, while Nasiru’s destination had yet to be ascertained.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the victims had hanged onto the door of the train before the journey turned bloody around 9pm.

There are fears that the new forex policy may cause a major setback in the medical sector.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), last week, directed commercial banks to pay for their dollar purchases at the official forex window 48 hours ahead of the bid date.

Under the policy, banks and other forex dealers are required to deposit the naira equivalent of the total forex bids to the apex bank 48 hours in advance. The lenders responded by transmitting same message to their customers, who must now fund their accounts 48 hours before the forex bid date. Besides, dollar deposits are being rejected.

There has been outrage in India following the arrest of dozens of couples at a number of Mumbai hotels last week - because they were unmarried.

More than 40 couples were dragged out of their hotel rooms and taken to a nearby police station where they were held for several hours and some were even made to call their parents.

Witnesses say police knocked on the doors to the hotel rooms during the Thursday afternoon raid, and arrested all couples found to be unmarried.

About 50 persons were on Tuesday killed when a bomb allegedly planted by members of the Boko Haram sect exploded at a village market in Borno State.

The victim, a fish hawker, was lured by Baba Debo who feigned interest in her merchandise only for him to overpower her and have forceful intercourse with her.

A 30-year-old man, Richard Effiok, on Monday confessed to stabbing his girlfriend after three rounds of sex.

The West African Examinations Council has withheld the May/June 2015 West African Senior School Certificate Examination results of hundreds of candidates from 13 states in the country.

This comes as the council stated that only 616, 370 candidates obtained credit in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics. The candidates represented 38.68 per cent of the candidates who sat for the examination.

One million, five hundred and ninety-three thousand and four hundred and forty-two candidates, comprising 864,096 males and 729,346 females, sat for the examination.

Emeka Offor: predicts 40% drop in petroleum import

Emeka Offor, Executive Chairman, Chrome Oil Services, says importation of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) would drop by about 40 per cent when critical unit of the Port-Harcourt refinery begins operation.

PMS is otherwise called petrol.

Offor gave the assurance while speaking with energy correspondents on Sunday in Lagos.

He said the critical constituent of the refinery; the Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) would become functional next week.

The Police in Ogun have arrested a nurse, Adebola Titilayo, for stealing a new born baby shortly after delivery in Arogun village, Ogun state in desperation to have a child for her wealthy husband.

5 'witches' beaten to death in India

Dozens of villagers in eastern India beat to death five women on Saturday, accusing them of practising witchcraft and blaming them for a series of misfortunes in the village, police said.

Residents of Kinjia village in Jharkhand state dragged the women out of their homes and beat them with sticks and iron rods, said Arun Kumar Singh, a deputy inspector general of police in Ranchi, Jharkhand's capital.

The Department of Homeland Security said the countries included European nations that have seen hundreds of residents traveling to fight with militant groups in Syria and Iraq.

It said the changes required the use of e-passports or paper passports that contain chips carrying biometric information and expand use of U.S. air marshals on international flights.
