How I was lured into fraudulent act —Suspect

IF 37-year-old Tope Oni could turn the hand of the clock back, he would have wished he never knew a man called Mr Kayode Adebayo (37). This is because the man, Adebayo, who is currently on the run from law enforcement agents in Oyo State Police Command, allegedly introduced Oni into the crime that has landed him in police net.

The stock in trade of Oni and his runaway partner was to look for vehicles put up for sale, tender a fake bank draft which would be given to the vehicle owner. After the payment of the fake bank draft into the account of the vehicle owner, a fake bank alert would be received, which would make the car owner believe the payment and release the car, only to discover later that he had been conned.

444 Deaths In 39 Days: Boko Haram, More Daring, More Heartless

Apart from the documented 444 murdered victims, hundreds of wounded persons and thousands newly displaced, all from a surprising fresh onslaught by Boko Haram on scores of communities and towns in at least six northern states of Nigeria, the questions on the lips of Nigerians monitoring the carnage would all meet at some point. Was the inaugural speech of President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29, 2015 in which he promised to stamp out Boko Haram shortly, just a brilliant prose with no work plan for execution?

Was his diatribe on the terrorists and his renewed pledge to route the insurgents mere bravado; a politically-right outing to woo everyone as the messiah, while knowing deep inside him he had no such capability?

Don’t sacrifice human lives on altar of money, profit, Pope tells politicians

The 78-year-old pope — in Paraguay on the last stop of a three-nation tour of South America — also railed against ideologies and hammered home the central theme of his trip to his home continent: equality.

Speaking to an enchanted crowd of 5,000 at a small stadium in the capital Asuncion, Francis drifted away from his scripted remarks, saying that “ideologies end badly, they do not work, they do not take into account the people.”

“Look what happened with ideologies in the last century… they ended in dictatorships, always,” he added, applause ringing out in response.

Love Is Oxygen For the Soul

The concept of love transcends time, culture and geographical location. Love can calm the greatest storms in life, bring joy to those in mourning, and not to mention cover a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). I believe love is oxygen for the soul.

This concept is something that I’ve been processing for awhile now, so much so that it will be the focus of my next book. Why? Because I believe love is one of the greatest forces the world has ever seen. The greatest example of it? Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for the sake of those who didn’t deserve an ounce of it.
Love is powerful. Love is contagious. Love is Jesus.

How I overcame breast cancer in church— Nurse

LAST Sunday’s stunning healing testimony of 43- year old Ifeyinwa Okafor who claimed to have been miraculously delivered from the scourge of breast cancer has re-enacted the debate over whether faith healing which is based on beliefs should be integrated into science-based medicine.

Despite loud allegations of some clerics financially inducing people to give fake testimonies, people still claim that they have been healed of cancer and other debilitating ailments and terminal diseases. Not too long ago, there were reports of a mini revival at Ketu Bus Stop in Lagos when an unidentified pastor allegedly delivered a mentally unstable man from the spirit of insanity.
