President Buhari reacts Saraki & Dogara's emergence as National Assembly leaders

President Buhari has reacted to the emergence of Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara as the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives respectively.

A statement issued by the Special Adviser Media and Publicity Femi Adeshina said though the president would have preferred that the process of electing the leaders as initiated and concluded by the All Progressives Congress (APC) had been followed,he says he accepts the outcome of the results.


“President Muhammadu Buhari has noted the outcome of the just-concluded election of leaders of the National Assembly.“President Buhari had said in an earlier statement that he did not have any preferred candidate for the Senate and the House of Representatives, and that he was willing to work with whoever the lawmakers elected. That sentiment still stands.
“Though he would have preferred the new leaders to have emerged through the process established by the party”.

Courts Quashes Extradition Proceedings, Arrest Warrant Against Kashamu

Two judges of a Federal High Court in Lagos yesterday nullified the provisional warrant of arrest obtained against Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator-elect for Ogun East Senatorial District, Prince Buruji Kashamu.

One of the judges, Justice Okon Abang, while ruling on a fundamental rights enforcement suit brought by Kashamu to enforce the court’s earlier judgement barring the NDLEA from extraditing the PDP chieftain to the United States of America for drug related offences, held that NDLEA fraudulently secured the warrant of arrest by concealing fact.

Military moves command centre to Maiduguri

A 25-year-old woman identified as Mrs. Blessing Emeka Eze who has been going from one church to another claiming that her 8-year-old daughter was kidnapped and released after 11 days in captivity has been arrested.

The Owode, Ogun State-born domestic servant was caught by members of Four Square Gospel Church, Obawole, Iju station, a suburb of Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, on Sunday, 7 June, 2015 where she had gone to give false testimony that her 8-yearold daughter who was kidnapped at Ogba area of Lagos State was found at Mile 2 after 11 days. She also told the congregation that precious told her that she was fed with raw food and raw meet which made the Pastor of the church, Rev. A.S. Adekunle to order that the girl be taken to a medical centre on Old Akute Road for treatment.

Chiara Paez had been dating her boyfriend, Manuel Mansilla, for several months when she went missing in May, according to Buzzfeed.

Just three days after she went missing, authorities found her body in the backyard of Mansilla’s home.

A fake doctor has been nabbed after practising for 10 years.Martins Ugwu,a senior official of the Federal Ministry of Health, who has been practising as a medical doctor for close to 10 years, was arrested by the police upon discovery that he stole the medical license from his friend.

Ugwu, who is a Senior Medical Officer II on Grade Level 13, was found to have impersonated his friend, Dr. George Davidson Daniel, who is undergoing a residency training programme in Jos, Plateau State.

Leonardo DiCaprio sues French mag for claiming he is having a baby with Rihanna..

Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly suing a French gossip magazine called 'Oops! for alleging that he's having a baby with Rihanna and he does not want the child.

According to Gossip Cop, who claim they have exclusive court documents filed by Leo's lawyers in a French court, the actor is demanding the magazine retracts the story and pays him the maximum compensation French law allows, which would be about $20,000 in damages plus legal fees.
