Otti petitions IG over threat to life

The Abia State governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, Dr. Alex Otti, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police over alleged threat to his life.

In an open letter addressed to the IG, Suleiman Abba, and obtained by The PUNCH in Umuahia, on Tuesday, Otti’s campaign organisation alleged that some elements “consider Otti a serious threat that must be eliminated by all means.”

A 29-yr-old pastor has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after he was found guilty of killing his wife.

Philip Grandine who was 25 at that time was married to 29-yr-old Anne Karissa carrying a 5 month-old pregnancy, reportedly drugged his wife's drink and drowned her in a bathtub after she caught him cheating.

New York police have arrested a former substitute teacher accused of repeatedly raping a 14-year-old student with learning disabilities in her home.

A recovering drug addict hung herself after facing "three of the most stressful things in life" - ending a relationship, starting a new job and moving house.

Before her death, Shirley Jensen was jailed for six months after getting involved in drugs at the age of 18. When she was released after serving half her sentence, she vowed to get her life back on track. She eventually became teetotal at the age of 20 and went back to college to further her career and help others.

The Lagos police have arraigned five men before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State for allegedly killing a 23-year-old man, Damilayo Ayodele.

The defendants, Emmanuel Eguku (23), Adefemi Qudus (24), Odukoyo Deji (23), Hoteyin Oladeji (29) and Emeka Ekenjoku (32), were arraigned on Monday on three counts of belonging to an unlawful society and murder.

According to Pm News Governor Aregbesola of Osun State has defeated PDP’s Iyiola Omisore once again. Justice Elizabeth Ipejime today at a High Court in Osogbo declared Governor, Rauf Aregbesola of the All Progressives Congress winner of the election tribunal.

It will be recalled that Aregbesola had defeated Omisore during the elections with 392, 284 votes to 292, 742 votes but the results were contested by Omisore and PDP and Aregbesola was dragged to court.
