One of them is Warri Wolves’ central defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe.

According to a report published on November, 26 2014, Wednesday, by sl10.ng, an Italian club, Udinese Calcio, is interested in signing the lanky defender.

Azubuike Egwuekwe

Championship side, Watford, is also reported to be interested in the 25-year-old big defender.

Meanwhile, the Wolves are willing to do business with only serious clubs.

It was gathered that Egwuekwe will cost between £100,000 and €200,000.

Though he was not a first choice for the Super Eagles since 2012, Egwuekwe has made nine starts for the national side since the beginning of 2013.

Before joining Warri Wolves, the defender, who stands at 6 ft 5 (1.96m), came through the Yerima Strikers football system and also played for Nasarawa United in the past.

According to many football analysts, Egwuekwe would thrive in European football due to his physique and huge presence in the heart of the defence.

Myles Munroe, Wife to Get Closed Casket National Memorial; Family Makes Decision After Viewing Remains From Crash

There will be no open casket viewing of the bodies of renowned pastor and motivational speaker Myles Munroe and his wife, Ruth, at a national memorial planned for the couple in the Bahamas next Wednesday.

The lives of the Munroes, who died along with seven others in a fiery jet crash in the Bahamas on Sunday, Nov. 9, will be celebrated during a five-hour event at Thomas Robinson Stadium in the Bahamas.

Kevin Harris, spokesman for the Bahamas Faith Ministries founded by Munroe, told The Christian Post Monday that while there will be speeches, music and singing among a number of activities, fans of the Munroes will not be allowed to view the bodies out of respect for the family. He said the family made the decision not to have an open casket after they had identified the bodies.

"They were IDed by all the family members, and all the family have confirmed that there will be a closed casket ceremony," said Harris.

The bodies of the renowned evangelical pastor and his wife, along with three of seven others, including senior vice president and fellowship pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries Richard Pinder, and pilots Captain Stanley Thurston and First Officer Frahkan Cooper, who died with them on Nov. 9 were returned home to family and friends in the island's capital of New Providence Monday in preparation for multiple memorials and funerals.

Cooper was buried last Friday while the remains of Diego Santiago, another victim, was cremated by his family, according to Harris.

Harris further explained that Munroe's children, who will attend the national memorial for their mother and father, have also committed to attending the memorial services for all the victims of the crash.

Pastor John Hagee Calls Obama One of the 'Most Anti-Semitic Presidents' in History

John Hagee, the senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, described President Barack Obama as "one of the most anti-Semitic presidents" in U.S. history while speaking at an event for the Zionist Organization of America.

The Texas pastor received an award from the ZOA Sunday night for his contributions in helping the nation of Israel. During his announcement he took a moment to share his opinion of Obama.

Speaking about the U.S.'s nuclear negotiations with Iran, Hagee asserted that Obama "is anxious to accommodate Iran and its nuclear ambitions. The executive branch is in the hands of one of the most anti-Semitic presidents in the history of the United States of America."

Hagee also commented on U.S.-Israeli relations, specifically America's relationship with the Middle East nation during the Obama administration, and said: "He knows it's unbreakable because he's been trying to break it for the last five years."

The Christian Post reached out to John Hagee for comment, but he was not able to respond by press time.

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, who headlined ZOA's event alongside Hagee, has been critical of the Administration's strained relationship with Israel and took a few minutes to discuss the threats coming against the U.S. ally.

"The threats to Israel right now have never been greater, and now is a time when we do not need leaders who simply speak empty words of support for Israel," Cruz said. "We need leaders who will stand and act. Now, more than ever, is a time to strengthen the unshakable alliance and friendship America has with the nation of Israel."

John Hagee also heads the organization Christians United for Israel. Founded in 2006, CUFI provides Evangelical-based support for Israel and has 1.6 million members.

"Before CUFI there was nothing to give American Evangelicals a national voice for Israel," said Hagee to JNS.org in November 2013. "Our main and initial objective was to get thousands of leaders to go each year to Washington D.C. to engage every senator and congressperson as to why we as Evangelicals support Israel."

Last year, Hagee donated $2.7 million during The Night to Honor Israel event which took place at Cornerstone Church.

Evil Neighbour Gardener in hot soup for raping 10-year-old pupil in Lagos

Cases of rape keeps rearing its head every other day. When will it stop? End time things, "Chineke Chebe kwa umu gi Biko"

(What pleasure would a man derive from raping a 10-year-old girl?)

For his inability to put a hold to his sexual libido, a 20-year-old man, Godswill David, a native of Akwa Ibom State, has found himself in hot water after he was arrested for raping a 10-year-old primary 3 pupil in the Ikota Housing Estate, Lagos State.

The victim, according to Punch Newspaper, lived with her parents in the same house with David, which is owned by the girl's father, and he took advantage of being close to the family to perpetrate the crime.

It was gathered that David had sent the victim to fetch him a sachet of detergent and while she was searching for the detergent, the suspect followed her into the room and forcibly undressed and raped her.

While the act was on, the victim screamed for help, and the suspect’s stepmother rushed into the room and allegedly met David on top of the little girl, though she turned and locked the door without raising an alarm.

David allegedly threatened the victim that she would die if she told anyone what transpired between them.

Not satisfied with the rape, David tried to assault the girl again the next day when he found her sleeping ans she was said to have ran out and reported her ordeal to an aunt, who in turn narrated the incident to her parents.

The matter was reported at the police station, leading to David’s arrest. A police source reported that the girl was taken to a hospital where she went through some medical tests and the result showed that the hymen was no longer intact.

The matter was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, from where the suspect was arraigned on one count of unlawful defilement.

He was arraigned on before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court.

Shrien Dewani trial: Men who planned Anni murder not "the A-team of contract killer"

Arguing  the murder case against her husband Shrien Dewani should not be thrown out, prosecutor Adrian Mopp said the murder plot was 'amateurish and almost comical'

Comical: The conspiracy to kill Anni Dewani was 'amateurish' a court heard

honeymoon bride Anni Dewani were not "the A-team of contract killers", a court has been told.

Arguing that the murder case against her husband Shrien Dewani should not be thrown out, prosecutor Adrian Mopp told the Western Cape High Court in South Africa that the murder plot was amateurish and almost comical.

Lawyers for the millionaire businessman have asked a South African judge to throw the case against him out and allow him to return to England.

Francois van Zyl, defending Dewani, has claimed there are inconsistencies in evidence given against his client.

Saving Case: State prosecutor Adrian Mopp has been arguing for the Shrien Dewani trial to continue

Mopp said: "We know these individuals were not the A-team of contract killers. They could barely organise transport from Khayelitsha to Gugulethu.

"We are dealing with an amateurish attempt. If it were not for the killing of the deceased, it would actually be comical, the manner in which this matter was set about."

Mr Mopp argued that certain people, with their world view, would expect a level of sophistication in the planning.

Deputy judge president Jeanette Traverso said two of the hitmen, Zola Tongo and Monde Mbolombo, had fairly sophisticated jobs before they lost them.

Defence Team: Dewani's defence lawyer Francois Van Zyl

yesterday tried to have the case thrown out

Mr Mopp replied that that may be so but they were not involved in serious crime and had "vulnerabilities" that made them susceptible to being drawn into this world.

He added that fellow hitmen Mziwamadoda Qwabe and Xolile Mngeni were in a different category where they had access to illegal firearms and were unemployed.

On Monday, Judge Traverso spoke about the seemingly disorganised plan that the men allegedly organised together.

The defence and the State filed heads of argument for the discharge application last week.

Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Act provides that if at the close of the prosecution's case, the court believes there is no evidence that the accused committed the offence, it may return a verdict of not guilty.

The State closed its case a week ago.

Not Experts: Mziwamadoda Qwabe is one of the men convicted of murdering Anni

on trial for allegedly plotting with Tongo and others to kill his wife Anni while they were on honeymoon on Cape Town in November 2010.

He has pleaded not guilty to charges including kidnapping, murder and defeating the ends of justice.

He claims the couple were hijacked while Tongo drove them through Gugulethu in his minibus on November 13 2010.

He was released unharmed and Anni was driven away. She was found shot dead in the abandoned minibus in Khayelitsha the next morning.

The State alleges he conspired with others to stage the hijacking, for which he paid 15,000 rand (£870).

Gunshot Wound: Anni was found dead in an abandoned minibus

surprise helicopter trip for Anni for 15,000 rand.

Tongo is serving an 18-year jail term and Qwabe, a 25-year jail term. Mngeni was serving life in jail for firing the shot that killed Anni, but died in prison from a brain tumour on October 18.

Mbolombo was granted immunity from prosecution on two charges during Mngeni's trial but was warned he faced possible prosecution on various charges if he did not testify truthfully during Dewani's.

After hearing the two day application, the judge decided she needs two weeks to make a final decision on whether the trial should go ahead of Dewani should walk out of court a free man.

The case will continue on Monday, December 8 when she will announce her ruling.

I Steal Only On Sundays, Suspect Confesses

A 24-year-old man arrested for burglary has said that he steals only on Sundays by breaking into his neighbours’ homes after they had gone to their various churches in Lagos State, western Nigeria.

Kelechi Ikechi, from Abia State, was arrested on Sunday after he broke into his neighbour’s flat to steal  in Ejigbo area of Lagos.

Ikechi allegedly confessed to the police that he broke into Peter Ibeh’s house at Afolabi Obe Street, Ejigbo to steal.

But while carrying out the act, a trap was set for him and he was locked from outside and eventually caught.

Ikechi said he resorted to stealing from his neighbours after he lost his factory job.

•Kelechi Ikechi who confessed that he only steals on Sundays

that his neighbours spend much time at church services.

The complainant, Ibeh, said that every Sunday his house was burgled when he and members of his family are in church.

He said this caused serious rift within the family members and he decided to find the root cause.

Ibeh said on the day Ikechi was caught, he hid one of his aides inside their flat and went to church with other members of the family.

He said it paid off when Ikechi broke in and his aide locked him from outside and raised the alarm which attracted other neigbours.

Ikechi was arrested and handed over to the police at Ejigbo Division.

After investigation he was charged him before Isolo Magistrates’ court with burglary.

He pleaded not guilty.

The court granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.

Write Boko Haram like you wrote ISIS, Oritsejafor tells Sultan

Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, CAN President

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, on Monday urged the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, to write a letter to Boko Haram to stop their attacks just as he did to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Oritsejafor made the call in Abuja at a 2-day roundtable with Senior Special Assistants on Religious Affairs from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“His Eminence said he wrote a letter to ISIS, I have to truly congratulate you for that because that was a very good move. I didn’t know about it until today and I am so glad it happened. But I want to appeal that you also write to Boko Haram because Boko Haram is worst than ISIS.

“They have killed more people than ISIS, they have caused more atrocities than ISIS; they need to be written to as well, it is very important it will help.

“I have made an appeal several times that there are some of our leaders who must come together, religious, political and traditional. They must come and discuss.’’

He also enjoined religious clerics, particularly those in the ‘good book’ of the militant sect to reach out to the leadership of the sect so that the real Islam could be presented to them instead of allowing them to continue to be misrepresenting Islam.

According to him, the militant sect will not listen to him, he will have joined the clerics in preaching peace to members of the terror group and the need to practice real Islam.

“I have heard and I may be wrong, one thing you will learn about me is that I’m usually not politically correct, but. I tell you the way I see it.

Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III

very vast in scriptures. What scriptures do they use? There are still religious clerics that they respect.

“If these people are not presenting the right thing and are misrepresenting Islam, which I agree it is the case so to a very large extent, we agree that our brothers to reach them so that the real Islam can be presented to them. They won’t listen to me, in fact they will kill me faster than anything else, oh yes that is the truth and I am aware of that.”

He frowned at the inability of stakeholders to implement resolutions of the past inter-religious meetings.

The CAN president said that greater peace and harmony would have been achieved among the various religions in the country if lip-service had not been paid to the various resolutions of such meetings.

“But if we would come together, there must be sincerity, equality, fear of God and genuine love for one another. The problem with gatherings like this is that if we are not careful it becomes an occasion for good photographs, we shake hands, we talk very nicely, we are all politically correct. We don’t want to offend each other.

“Please let’s offend each other, we need to. Because if we don’t offend each other, we will not tell each other the truth and that is part of Nigeria’s problem.

“If you come out to say certain things there are those who feel you are rocking the boat but God is in the boat, the boat will not sink. Let us talk to each other, let’s tell the truth to each other, let’s not sweep it under the carpet.

“When we finish the opening ceremony and you go into the close door session, lay all the cards in the table.”

While querying why a church in the North in the last 30 years have not been able to get Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for land, he said that any mosque or church should be able to get C of O anywhere in the country.

“Please, permit me to say this, why should a church in the north for the last 30 years not be able to get C of O? Any Mosque anywhere in Nigeria should be able to get a C of O. Why is it that people want to build a place of worship, they are not given a land?

“Those of you who represent these governors, I like what His Eminence said, tell your governors some of these things and if they refused, resign. Hopefully, people will ask why you are resigning. Because we must create a level-playing ground for everybody, we must deal with each other as equals, very important, very vital. No matter your religion, in any state you come from, if you qualified for a position you should get it.”

In his contribution, the Sultan said people must tell their leaders the truth to promote peace and harmony in the country.

According to him, there is no problem between Christianity and Islam.

He, however, acknowledged that there were problems between Christians and Muslims in the country due to lack of education on the two religions. “If we don’t tell our leaders the truth, they won’t know the problems. If we hear something here and go back to do something different, then we have failed.

“We must tell our leaders the right thing and not what they want to hear. Muslims and Christians at all levels must sit together and discuss and we must implement what we discuss. We must work with our Holy Scriptures.”

According to the Sultan, he has written a letter to those pushing for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on why their action is against Islam, stressing that those carrying out bombings in Nigeria are not doing it for God.

He warned that the bombings and attacks might not end in the North-East if the right things were not done now.

Scuffles break out as Hong Kong clears part of protest site

Workers representing bailiffs remove barricades under a court injunction, on one of the main streets occupied by protesters as part of the Occupy Central civil disobedience movement at Mongkok shopping district in Hong Kong November 25, 2014.

as Hong Kong authorities cleared part of a pro-democracy protest camp in the bustling district of Mong Kok on Tuesday following a court order to reopen a road, with several demonstrators taken away in police vans.

The gritty, working-class area across the harbor from the main protest site at Admiralty has been the scene of some of the most violent clashes during two months of pro-democracy demonstrations in the Chinese-ruled city.

Hundreds of police stood guard as authorities enforced the court order to reopen Argyle Street to free up traffic. There was little resistance until the afternoon when police, some in rows with arms linked, faced off with protesters, several of whom were forcibly removed.

Workers in white helmets and vests moved wooden blockades from the road after demonstrators had earlier dismantled tents and packed up their belongings. The injunction was granted to a bus company which said the blockade had hurt business.

Some protesters heckled and held up yellow banners demanding Beijing allow full democracy in the global financial hub.

"Even if they clear this place, our will to fight for genuine universal suffrage hasn't changed ... it will only inspire people to think of other ways to continue this movement," said protester Ken Chu, 27, wearing a bright yellow safety helmet and a gas mask.

Hong Kong leader Leung Chun-ying, who has called the protests illegal, urged activists to go home. Hundreds of protesters remain camped out along nearby Nathan Road, part of which local media said would be cleared later in the week.

The move in Mong Kok comes a week after the partial clearance of the largest protest site next to government buildings in Admiralty, enforcing another injunction order in a peaceful operation that left most of the main protest site intact.

Mong Kok has been a flashpoint for street brawls between students and mobs intent on breaking up the prolonged protests to demand free elections for the city's next leader in 2017.

In August, Beijing offered Hong Kong people the chance to vote for their own leader in 2017, but said only two to three candidates could run after getting backing from a 1,200-person "nominating committee" stacked with Beijing loyalists.

More than 100,000 people took to the streets at the peak of the demonstrations but that number has dropped to a few hundred scattered in tents over the two main sites amid dwindling public support.

NFF to send Keshi on refresher course abroad

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick has given a hint that Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi won’t be fired by his board, but rather would send him for a refresher course abroad.

Upon announcing the sacking of Keshi a month ago, Pinnick revealed the coach and his assistant turned down the opportunity to go for refresher courses to be sponsored by the board.

However, events took a different turn when an order from the country’s president, Goodluck Jonathan forced the NFF to reinstate the coach and his technical crew.

According to Pinnick, his board is fully focused on ensuring the Eagles prepare well for the 2017 AFCON and 2018 World Cup qualifiers by sending the team handlers to new courses abroad to broaden their scope and knowledge.

“In the short term package to reposition our football we will send some of our coaches and ex internationals to England for refresher courses in match reading,” said Pinnick.

“They will also receive orientation abroad on crisis management and other related courses that would help us improve on the quality of information to be given the coaches before, during and after games.”

He also confirmed the Eagles will play most of their friendly games at home starting with the 25 March 2015 friendly against Brazil at the Uyo township stadium.

The idea of playing most of the proposed friendly games in Nigeria is to showcase the county’s huge tourism potential and culture as a way of putting the country on a positive footing in the eyes of the world.

Jonathan not anti-Muslim, says Presidency

Jonathan was not using his office to pursue anti-Muslim agenda as being alleged in some quarters.

Reuben Abati, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, said this on Monday in Abuja while speaking with State House correspondents.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mr. Abati was reacting to a number of allegations made by the Muslims Rights Concern (MURIC) through its Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola against the president.

“Our attention has been drawn to a press statement issued by the Muslims Rights Concern and signed by its Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola which made a number of allegations against President Jonathan.

“I find Akintola’s allegations rather curious and they can be dealt with as follows: first, he needs to be told that President Jonathan is not anti-Muslim as he alleges.

“Jonathan is the President of all Nigerians, whatever may be their beliefs’’.

“It is not true that the president is using the highest office in the country to promote Zion nation.’’

According to him, I think that is a most unfortunate statement coming from Akintola of MURIC and for which they owe President Jonathan an apology.

Mr. Abati also faulted allegation by the group that Muslims were marginalised in the recent national conference, describing it as a very unfortunate thing to say.

He noted that the national conference had been praised and adjudged one of the best of such conferences ever organised in the country.

“It was a purposeful conference, a conference in which a lot of maturity was displayed. Religion did not become a big issue in that conference.

“Rather, the conference became a platform for addressing many issues of general concern to various groups, ethnic or religious.

“MURIC cannot claim not to know that was a very successful conference,” he added.

Mr. Abati described as a blatant lie allegation by the group that the security system in the Presidential Villa was saturated with Israeli security operatives.

He emphasised that there were no Israeli security operatives saturating the security system in Aso Rock.

The president’s aide invited Mr. Akintola to visit the Presidential Villa to see whether it was Israelis that were in charge of security.

According to him, the security operatives in the Villa are not foreigners, they are Nigerians and there is no connection with Israel whatsoever.

Mr. Abati added that Mr. Akintola’s  “vituperation” on the proposed centenary N100 banknote was wrong and misinformed.

“The symbol his statement is referring to is the Star of David. There is nowhere on that note as indicated in the specimen that has been widely publicised where there is any Jewish or Zionist symbol or the Star of David.

“The Star of David is a hexagram which is two triangles of equal lines superimposed on each other. The hexagram is a very popular symbol but it is not on that naira note.

“The symbol that he is referring to is not a Jewish symbol. It is what they call spark security feature.’’

He said, “It is an optical magnetic feature which enables the public to authenticate a currency note whether it is genuine or counterfeit. That is the function of that particular design.

“That design is not a hexagram and it is not in any way associated with Israel or Jewish or Zionism.

“It is two squares merged into one with a Manila briquette, which is a symbol of the cowry money used during the colonial era.

“It is an attempt on the part of MURIC to cause disaffection, because on the design of that note, the value of that note is written out in the three major languages in Nigeria, recognised in the constitution: Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa.’’

According to him, no attempt has been made to use this proposed naira note to discriminate against anybody, and the attack on President Jonathan is undeserved, unwarranted and totally unkind.

“I believe that MURIC will see the need to quickly apologise for misleading the public and for issuing that kind of statement that can cause disaffection against the president,’’ he said.

Why alleged Nyanya bomber was cleared by Court

Aminu Oguche and INTERPOL officials on his repatriation back to Nigeria in July 2014

A federal judge who on Monday struck out terrorism charges against Aminu Oguche, the suspected mastermind of the Nyanya bomb attack in Abuja, said his decision was based on lack of “diligent prosecution by the state”.

In a ruling Monday in Abuja, the judge cancelled a two-count charge instituted by the federal government over the April 2014 attack which killed more than 70 people.

Mr. Ogwuche, a suspected Boko Haram member, was accused by the Nigerian government of being behind the attack.

The blast at the Nyanya Motor Park occurred during morning peak hours as residents were hurrying to work.

The government said Mr. Ogwuche fled to Sudan after coordinating the attack.

He was later repatriated to Nigeria to face charges.

The Nigerian police had filed a two-count charge against Mr. Ogwuche, but the case could not proceed due to bickering between the police and the State Security Service, SSS.

At the resumed hearing Monday, the prosecution counsel was absent from court.

“This criminal charge is hereby struck out for want of diligent prosecution by the complainant, Inspector General of Police and his prosecutor,” the judge ruled.

The judge did not however order Mr. Ogwuche’s release, an indication the state could file fresh charges against him.

But Mr. Ogwuche has already challenged his continued detention, asking the court to compel the SSS to release him or charge him anew.

On Monday, the judge also granted an oral application by his lawyer, Ahmed Raji, to allow Mr. Ogwuche’s family members visit him.

The judge ordered that two family members, and three attorneys from Mr. Raji’s chamber, be allowed to see the suspected bomber.

The application was not opposed by the counsels representing the SSS, Clifford Osagie, and the Attorney General of the Federation, Taiwo Abidogun.

The judge also ruled that Mr. Ogwuche be given medical care while in custody, and if need be, be referred to the National Hospital.

The application on his continued detention will be heard December 5.

LUO men line up to inherit KAJWANG’s wives and property as RAILA’s ODM warns - LOOK

"Ndi Kenya na omenala hia!"

Even before his burial on Friday 28th, succession politics of who inherits former Homa Homa Bay Senator, the late Otieno Kajwang’s wives and property, including his political seat, have began.

This is after a string of Luo men lined up, risking everything, just to have a share of Kajwang’s wealth by inheriting his two beautiful wives.

Speaking yesterday, Mbita ODM Chairman, Narkiso Tuko, revealed to The Kenyan DAILY POST that Kajwang’s family had received numerous requests from Luo men, some of who are influential politicians in the region, to inherit his beautiful wives, Rose and Faith Otieno, as well as his property in line with the Luo culture in order to continue his generation.

His sentiments were echoed by other ODM chairmen from the 7 sub-branches who expressed concerns that some people were already debating Kajwang’s succession before the burial.

However, the family and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s ODM leadership have warned politicians and desperate men seeking to reap where they did not sow by taking over Kajwang’s possessions even before his burial to hold their horses until after the burial and traditional rituals have been completed.

“Let us allow all rituals before anybody talks about inheriting Kajwang’s wives, his property or any of his political positions,” said Tuko.

“Let us concentrate on the burial arrangement to give Kajwang a befitting send off before we can think of sharing his wives and property,” he added.

Wife inheritance is synonymous with Luos because they believe it is a way of continuing the dead man’s generation and is believed to be among the major contributors to the high HIV/ AIDs prevalence in Luo Nyanza.
