LUO men line up to inherit KAJWANG’s wives and property as RAILA’s ODM warns - LOOK

"Ndi Kenya na omenala hia!"

Even before his burial on Friday 28th, succession politics of who inherits former Homa Homa Bay Senator, the late Otieno Kajwang’s wives and property, including his political seat, have began.

This is after a string of Luo men lined up, risking everything, just to have a share of Kajwang’s wealth by inheriting his two beautiful wives.

Speaking yesterday, Mbita ODM Chairman, Narkiso Tuko, revealed to The Kenyan DAILY POST that Kajwang’s family had received numerous requests from Luo men, some of who are influential politicians in the region, to inherit his beautiful wives, Rose and Faith Otieno, as well as his property in line with the Luo culture in order to continue his generation.

His sentiments were echoed by other ODM chairmen from the 7 sub-branches who expressed concerns that some people were already debating Kajwang’s succession before the burial.

However, the family and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s ODM leadership have warned politicians and desperate men seeking to reap where they did not sow by taking over Kajwang’s possessions even before his burial to hold their horses until after the burial and traditional rituals have been completed.

“Let us allow all rituals before anybody talks about inheriting Kajwang’s wives, his property or any of his political positions,” said Tuko.

“Let us concentrate on the burial arrangement to give Kajwang a befitting send off before we can think of sharing his wives and property,” he added.

Wife inheritance is synonymous with Luos because they believe it is a way of continuing the dead man’s generation and is believed to be among the major contributors to the high HIV/ AIDs prevalence in Luo Nyanza.
