Three female police officers in Edo have faced the ultimate disgrace after they were stripped naked by residents of theOregbeni Quarters in the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the state.

The officers had gone to arrest a woman but she insisted on taking her bath before going to the police station.

The policewomen then tried to use force but unfortunately for them residents of the area ganged up on them, stripped them naked and beat them up.

The officers were invited to arrest the woman by the latter’s landlady, one Mrs. Okebuse, The Nation reports.

“When the police came to make arrest, they started fighting the police. I ran for my life and hid in the other compound,” the landlady said.

Okebuse had invited the police to evict the woman and an eyewitness said that the landlady was fond of harassing her tenants.

“The woman was taking her bath and the police officers refused to allow the woman to take her bath,” the witness said.

The incident has been confirmed by the State Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo who said that the attackers would be brought to justice.

Supermodel Janice Dickinson has joined the list of women who claim to have been raped by ace comedian and actor, Bill Cosby.

Janice alleges that Cosby drugged her with a glass of wine in Lake Tahoe, California in 1982 and sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious.

The supermodel revealed this during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. She said:

“The next morning I woke up, and I wasn't wearing my pajamas, and I remember before I passed out that I had been sexually assaulted by this man,' she told Entertainment Tonight.”

“I remember waking up with my pajamas off and there was semen in between my legs,”she added.

Dickinson said that the last image she had before passing out was of Cosby taking off his robe and climbing on top of her.

When asked what she would say to Cosby if she saw him, the model said:

"How dare you. Go f*ck yourself. How dare you take advantage of me. And I hope you rot.”

Cosby’s lawyer has however stated that Dickinson’s allegation is false and a “complete lie.”

The actor has also been accused of sexually assaulting other women including Barbara Bowman, who he allegedly raped at age 17 and Joan Tarshis who claims he raped her twice in 1969 in Los Angeles.

Bill Cosby has been silent on the allegations.

In Indonesia Female Police Recruits To Undergo Virginity Test

In Indonesia, female police recruits must undergo virginity tests before they are accepted.

These female officers must undergo virginity tests before recruitment.

           (Indonesian Police)

There has been widespread condemnation to a new law in Indonesia which makes it mandatory for female police recruits in Indonesia to go for a virginity test before they could be accepted. Married women though, are not eligible to join the police in that country.

The Indonesian National Police website lists the health requirements for female recruits, listing virginity as one of the requirements:

In addition to the other medical and physical examinations. Women who want to become policewomen are to undergo a virginity test. Policewomen must keep their virginity.

Overall, the medical and physical examination has two main objectives. The first one is to make sure that the candidates' health and physical condition will not harm them when admitted into police force.

Secondly, it is to make sure that they do not possess any communicable diseases that will not allow them to perform maximally as trained police personnel.

As to the examination of the virginity, it is just a part of the whole medical and physical test, not intended to solely seek for the virginity condition.

Or it can not be put in a perspective for the sake of finding out the virginity, instead, it is for the sake of the completeness of medical and physical examination.

But the Human Rights Watch has condemned what it calls invasive virginity test for female police recruits, calling it 'painful' and 'traumatic,' as they were subjected to thorough medical tests that included examination of genitalia.

A HRW report says they interviewed several female officers and applicants, as well as police medical and recruitment staff. They also say they spoke with a National Police commission member.

The report describes the test, administered by Police Medical and Health Center staff in police hospitals in the cities of Bandung, Jakarta, Padang, Pekanbaru, Makassar, and Medan, as 'discriminatory, cruel and degrading.'

One recruit interviewed by HRW for the report said:

Entering the virginity test examination room was really upsetting. I feared that after they performed the test I would not be a virgin anymore. It really hurt. My friend even fainted because... it really hurt, really hurt.

12 children, 1 villager dead after Niger hippo attack

Twelve children and a villager have been confirmed dead after a hippopotamus attacked a boat near the Niger capital Niamey earlier this week, officials said Wednesday.

The students, aged 12 to 13, died when their boat transporting them across the Niger River was flipped by a hippo on Monday. A number of students in the West African nation take such boats to attend school on the other side of the river.

“Ultimately it was 12 students, including seven girls and five boys, who died after the attack,” Aichatou Oumani, minister of secondary education, told state television.

A villager on the same boat was also killed, according to an official in Libore, the village near the site of the accident.

An earlier toll had spoken of two deaths, 11 missing and five survivors. At least 18 people were aboard the boat, mostly students.

“We have already given the order for the animal to be identified and killed,” Hassoumi Djabirou, governor of the Tillaberi region, said on local television.

Game wardens shot dead a hippo last year after it killed a teenager in Niamey.

Hippos with young in tow are the most aggressive, even attacking cattle that come to graze on the banks of the Niger River, experts say.

‘Black widow’ with seven dead partners arrested in Japan

A 67-year-old millionairess was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of poisoning her husband with cyanide as it emerged six former partners had already died, in Japan’s latest apparent “black widow” case.

Chisako Kakehi has been the beneficiary of a combined 800 million yen ($6.8 million) over the last two decades, Jiji Press said — insurance money and other assets she received after the seven men’s deaths.

Husband number four Isao Kakehi fell sick suddenly at home and was confirmed dead at a hospital in December last year, less than two months after the couple married.

An autopsy found highly toxic cyanide compounds in his blood.

That came after the September death of a 75-year old boyfriend, who fell suddenly ill after the couple ate together at a restaurant, Jiji said.

Kakehi’s dalliance with death began in 1994 when her first husband passed away at the age of 54.

In 2006 her second husband, whom she had met through a dating agency, died of a stroke aged 69, while the third marriage ended in 2008 with the death of her 75-year-old partner, Jiji said.

This picture taken on March 13, 2014 shows 67-year-old Japanese woman Chisako Kakehi, who was arrested in Kyoto on November 19 on suspicion of poisoning her husband

A boyfriend, believed to have been suffering from some form of cancer, died a year later, and in 2012 her then-fiance met his fate after collapsing while riding a motorbike.

Traces of cyanide were detected in his body, media reports said.

Kakehi was arrested Wednesday by police in Kyoto on suspicion of murdering her latest husband. She has denied any involvement in his death.

“We suspect she did it for money,” a police investigator on the latest death said without giving details of the amount involved.

          – ‘Doomed by fate’ –

Police are now working on the theory that she could have been behind the deaths of at least some of the other six.

This picture taken on March 13, 2014 shows 67-year-old Japanese woman Chisako Kakehi, who was arrested in Kyoto on November 19 on suspicion of poisoning her husband with cyanide

“We can’t say how many now… Given their advanced age, we have to proceed carefully to judge whether their deaths were actually the result of foul play or not,” the investigator told AFP by phone.

Questioned by reporters earlier this year, former bank worker Kakehi protested her innocence.

“If people suspect murder, I’d find it easier to bite my tongue off and die,” she told reporters in March.

Jiji Press quoted her as saying in an earlier interview that she was “doomed by fate” to suffer a series of deaths among those close to her, and protesting that she had no access to poison.

If she is found to have been involved in the deaths of numerous partners, Kakehi will become the latest example in Japan of a “black widow”, named for the female spider that devours its mate after coupling.

In 2012 Kanae Kijima was sentenced to hang for the murders of three men, aged 41, 53 and 80, whom she met through Internet dating sites.

Kijima, who was at one time a paid-for mistress, poisoned her victims with carbon monoxide by burning charcoal briquettes after drugging them with sleeping tablets.

She is in jail awaiting the outcome of an appeal to the supreme court.

Another woman, fomer bar hostess Miyuki Ueta, is also waiting on the outcome of a supreme court appeal against a death sentence for the killing of two men.

(Reuters) - Temperatures in all 50 U.S. states dipped to freezing or below on Tuesday as an unseasonably cold blast of weather moved across the country while heavy snow prompted a state of emergency in western New York and contributed to the deaths of four people.

Every U.S. state, including Hawaii, was bitten by temperatures at the freezing point of 32 degrees F (0 C) or below, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

It was the coldest November morning across the country since 1976, according to Weather Bell Analytics, a meteorologist consulting firm. Typically, such cold is not seen until late December through February, the NWS said.

Parts of Erie County, western New York, had 60 inches (1.5 m) of snow, with more falling, said Steven Welch of the National Weather Service near Buffalo.

County officials said on Tuesday there had been four storm-related deaths. One person was killed in a traffic accident and three others died after suffering heart problems, two of whom were believed to have been shoveling heavy snow at the time.

Snow fell at a rate of up to five inches (13 cm) an hour and some areas approached the U.S. record for 24-hour snowfall totals of 76 inches (193 cm), the NWS said.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency for 10 counties. National Guard troops were deployed to help residents cope with the storm.

A total of three to four feet (0.9 to 1.2 meters) of snow was expected in many areas of western New York and as much as six feet (1.8 meters) elsewhere, the NWS said.

A 140-mile (225-km) stretch of the New York State Thruway along Lake Erie and Lake Ontario was closed. Bans on driving were implemented in some places.

A bus carrying the Niagara University women's basketball team has been stuck on the Thruway since 2 a.m., the school said.

In the south of the United States, states were bracing for a record chill from the Arctic-born cold that swept the Rocky Mountains last week.

In Florida, freezing temperatures were expected through Wednesday morning, the NWS said.

"I can't stand it," said Robin Roy, 53, shivering underneath a rainbow-colored poncho at an outdoor market in Gulfport, Florida. "I've never liked the cold."

"Currently, this person is not having any symptoms of the disease. However, he would be kept under isolation in the special health facility of (the) Delhi Airport Health Organization, till such time his body fluids test negative and he is found medically fit to be discharged," the statement read.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has spoken out on why he abandoned his presidential ambition.

Tambuwal said he opted to withdraw from the contest for the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a bid to preserve the unity of the party.

According to a statement released on Tuesday, November 18, the speaker said:

“Having consulted widely, taking into consideration the concerns of some elders of the party, I have decided to suspend my participation in the presidential contest for now. I have done so as a sacrifice for the cohesion and unity of the APC.”

“I am suspending my participation in the presidential race for now because I do not have any inordinate ambition to occupy any office. Nigeria is a country too great to sacrifice on the altar of partisan politics and personal ambition,” Tambuwal added.

The speaker also said, while pledging his loyalty to the APC, that though the decision to withdraw from the race was a difficult one, he would cooperate with all the party’s aspirants.

Five people, former Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari, Ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Governors of Kano and Imo, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and  Rochas Okorocha and Chairman of Leadership Newspapers, Sam Ndah-Isaiah are currently vying for the APC’s presidential ticket.

Seventh Sierra Leone doctor killed by Ebola: source

FREETOWN (Reuters) - A Sierra Leonean doctor died of Ebola on Tuesday, a medical source said, bringing to seven the number of doctors killed by the virus savaging the nation's healthcare system.

Still recovering from years of conflict, Sierra Leone has seen at least 128 of its health personnel infected by Ebola as staff working in general wards and special treatment centres have been exposed to the disease.

"Dr Michael Kargbo died this afternoon," said a senior health worker at the Hastings Treatment Center in the outskirts of Freetown, asking not to be named. There was no official comment.

It was not clear how Kargbo, a 64-year-old dermatologist working at the Magburaka Government Hospital, was infected with Ebola as he was not serving in a frontline Ebola treatment unit.

All seven Sierra Leonean doctors who have contracted Ebola have died. Kargbo's death comes a day after Dr. Martin Salia died in the United States after being evacuated from Sierra Leone for treatment.

The worst Ebola outbreak on record has killed over 5,000 people, mainly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Mali is facing a new wave of cases but Senegal and Nigeria have successfully contained outbreaks.

Having been the worst affected nation, Liberia has seen the number of Ebola cases ease off and President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has set a goal having no new cases by Dec. 25.

However, U.N. officials say the disease is advancing rapidly in Sierra Leone, where there is a lack of treatment centres.

Will Smith and Ex-Wife Reunite to Celebrate Son's Birthday at Vegas Bash

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith's marriage may be the target of endless gossip, but one thing is for sure: the couple plays nice with his ex-wife.

The Men in Black star's eldest son, Trey, celebrated his 22nd birthday on Friday at the Ghostbar Dayclub at the Palms in Las Vegas. Not only were his dad and stepmom there to mark the occasion, but his mom – Will's first wife, Sheree Fletcher – was as well. And things were peachy between all parties. Although Jada kept an arm around her hubby in a group photo of the trio, the pair appeared to get along well with Sheree, sharing a warm greeting with Will and gushing about Jada on Instagram.

                    Will and Sheree (Getty Images)

The Hollywood Exes reality star — who was married to Will from 1992 to 1995, during his Fresh Princedays — reposted photos from the event and had nothing by kind words to say about it. "Celebrating @ace0011 with the BEST bonus mom ever!!! #Jada & babydaddy #VegasBaby," she wrote.

"Bonus mom" was a term Jada adopted after she said "I do" to Will in 1997. During an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2010, she explained that after she and Will married and started their own family, they came together with Sheree and her second husband, NFL star turned pastor Terrell Fletcher, as a close-knit extended family for the sake of their children.

"Sheree and I both had to make that decision, because at the end of the day, we had Trey and that had to be the primary focus," Jada told Oprah. "So we had to put aside our own craziness, our stuff, all the baggage that comes with it. She and I just had to focus on, 'What does he need?' ... At the end of the day, it's like, we have to let go of our own selfish desires [and] look [at] what can we do to facilitate the group, and facilitate the children, who ultimately are our future."

Sheree told Oprah it took a long time for them to get to that place, but they did. "You realize, [Will and I] had our chance, now it's about those kids," she said.

A shot of Sheree and Will on the red carpet back when they were married (Getty Images)

Jada and Sheree — who's in the process of divorcing Fletcher — are so close they even chat about typical friend things like books. Jada, along with Will, produced the 2008 movie adaptation of the book The Secret Life of Bees after Sheree recommended the read to Jada.

"My bonus son's mother actually called me, Sheree, and she said, 'Jada, you have to read this book," she recalled. "And I fell in love with it."

As for birthday boy Trey, who inspired Will's hit "Just the Two of Us" (and appeared in the 1998 video with his famous father), he's a deejay and he provided the music for his own birthday bash.

During an interview with VH1 earlier this year, Sheree talked about how Trey differs from his half-siblings, Willow, 14, and Jaden, 16, who have Hollywood careers and are often making headlines.

"Trey was raised differently – in a different home," Sheree said. "Trey doesn’t really like the limelight. I don't want to say he’s more grounded, but he just had a different upbringing. He wasn’t as exposed to the whole Hollywood aspect of life. A lot of that was by choice because [his] dad wouldn’t leave him out. [However,] he has an insight and he doesn’t like anything that's not real or authentic."

And that may make him our favorite Smith kid yet.

Earlier the beauty queen wrote the next: “I’ve got a big #Butt and I cannot lie. Hehe. Don’t look at me don’t know how it got there. #God please do not take this #Body away. #LovingMyNewBody. Finally got a bright future behind me. #KimKardasian #NickyMinaj watch out.
