Two men and two women were arrested Friday night for allegedly selling a 16-year-old girl for prostitution, the San Antonio Police Department said.
The teen told police that she had been sold to one couple for $4,000.
Rebecca Nicole Alvarez, 22, Christopher Castoreno, 34, (above)Veronica Ann Diaz, 26, and Adrian Colon, 44, are all being charged with trafficking.
The sexual assault allegedly started in November, when the teen met Colon and Diaz through a mutual friend, police said.
The victim told police the couple allegedly sold her to Alvarez and Castoreno for $4,000 after refusing to have sex with other people.
On Dec. 15, officers responded to a call at a San Antonio pawn shop where the teen told authorities that Alvarez and Castoreno were following her.
"This couple then supplied her with drugs, got her intoxicated and had sex with her and forced her to have sex with other people at various locations around town," SAPD spokesman Sgt. Jesse Salame said.
"She was able to get a hold of a cell phone at one of the houses she was taken to and that's when she called her friend, and her friend called her mother, and that's when they called police.
"The victim was taken to South Side motel and an East Side home, as well as other locations that she couldn't recall due to the drugs and alcohol, police said.
