Boy, 13, ‘took part in four-hour gang rape of woman’

A teenager and a group of six men are alleged to have filmed themselves gang raping a woman in a four-hour ordeal that was caught on camera.

The teenager and five of the men, who listened to proceedings through a Romanian translator, face one charge of rape while a sixth man faces two counts of rape.

Mihaita Palie, 33, met the alleged victim in an underpass in Southampton as she walked home while visiting friends.

He is believed to have taken her to a house in the city where she was repeatedly raped by the men and teenager.

Cosmin Nicut is accused of filming the ordeal on a mobile phone which will be shown to the jury at Southampton Crown Court.

Prosecutor Simon Foster told them: ‘You will see about 20 minutes of that footage. She was naked as were the others.’

Palie denies rape and attempted rape and Nicut, 20, denies two counts of rape and one of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

Palie, Nicut and the boy are on trial with Octavian Militaru, 37, Ion Matei, 41, Nicolae Ghinea, 21, and Radu-Florin Panciuc, 21.

Militaru faces two counts of rape, and the others face one charge each of rape, which they all deny.

The trial continues.
