Chantae Marie Gilman, 28, pleaded guilty to the charges but claimed she had no recollection of what had happened.
The 31-year-old man, whose identity is protected, woke up to 17-stone Gilman lying on top of him.
According to court papers, he was “able to work his way out from underneath" her before kicking the mum-of-three out of his apartment.
Gilman reportedly continued to knock on the front door but the man refused to open it.
Later that day he went to the police station in Seattle, Washington.
He explained to cops he did not know who Gilman was but recognised her as an acquaintance of someone who lives in his apartment block.
He was later given a full sexual assault examination and Gilman's DNA was discovered.
Gilman, who suffers from bipolar disorder, was arrested and charged with rape and assault.
She initially denied knowing anything about the incident.
Police records failed to show how she got into the home.
She later pleaded guilty to both charges admitting that the victim "did not consent to the sexual contact" since he "was asleep and unable to".
Detective Roger Ishimitsu wrote in his police report: "Once arriving home he fell asleep on his bed.
"[The] victim slept very hard due to a long day."
According to records, she will now serve nine months in jail and have to register as a sex offender.
Her full sentencing will take place on June 19.
