Introducing Bike Balls, the world’s most ballsy bike lights

‘Reminds me of next door’s dog’, says one review. ‘Who knew that an illuminated set of facsimile testicles could be so useful?’ ponders another.

Introducing Bike Balls – the world’s most overconfident bike lights.

They are the creation of a group of visionaries – and cyclists – from Toronto, Canada.

They explain on their Kickstarter page: ‘As cyclists who regularly ride in the city, we are vulnerable to distracted and neglectful drivers. We wanted to do something to change that and have some fun while doing so. Bike Balls are more visible and noticeable than your average bike light.’

The Bike Balls are rear bike lights designed to be mounted on the back of your bike seat. They hang off the seat rail, and bob around while you cycle.

They’ll definitely get people’s attention (Picture: Kickstarter)

The swinging movement of the light-up sacks helps increase visibility, as they’re more likely to attract the attention of drivers.

And cyclists that are seen don’t get hit as much.

The balls have three modes: two ‘party’ modes where the light can be set to flash on and off in different patterns, and one that turns the light on solid.

You simply give them a good squeeze to turn them on and off.

The balls’ crowdfunding campaign has already hit over double its target, with the total pot now standing at $27,796 CAD (£14,700)
