Ferrari thieves’ getaway plan foiled when they ran out of petrol

Italian Job-style crooks, these people are not.

They stole two replica Ferraris from a car showroom but had to dump them soon after when they ran out of fuel.

Michael Jefferson, 29, and an accomplice went to Performance-Porsche in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, to try and nick two 250 GTOs worth around £60,000.

They were so determined that they had to move several other cars out of the way to get to their bounty.

But they only had a limited amount of fuel in them and after being hot-wired they didn’t get far before they ran out of fuel.
Jefferson was jailed for 20 months for the car theft and another three years for house break-ins.
