Adebayo bombs Jonathan-Says he would have ruined Nigeria if re-elected

Former governor of Ekiti State, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, yesterday hit hard on the outgoing President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, over the nation’s crumbling economy and the hardship faced by Nigerians in the last three weeks due to fuel scarcity in the country.Adebayo, who spoke in an interview with Daily Sun, said the Federal Government, led by Jonathan failed to move the nation forward.

He said: “It is obvious by what is going on that if the PDP were to remain in power, honestly, it would have been too disastrous for this country. I believe the only thing that has made people to exercise patience and not take to the streets since all these days, was because they know that come Friday, a new government will take over. And that is what is giving people hope.”
Otunba Adebayo thanked God that the people of Nigeria took the right decision during the last general elections by voting out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and bringing in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The president has shown lack of respect for the people, who he claims to love. If you are leaving government and at the time you are leaving, you begin to sack people and appoint new ones, that means you just want to create problems for the incoming administration.”

The former governor noted that if Jonathan had been given second term, the hardship being faced by the people would have been the beginning of total destruction of the nation’s economy.

He expressed concern over the way the president and his government allegedly relaxed and felt less bothered about the prolonged fuel scarcity and the power outage.

Adebayo, who is a chieftain of the APC, wondered why President Jonathan could pre-occupy himself with sacking some top government officials and appointing other ones to replace them within few days to the expiration of his administration as if he was just waking up after four years to know that the people were not good enough.

He advised the incoming government to do a comprehensive review of damage done to the country by the PDP, with a view to making corrections.
