Abia Assembly Passes N105bn Appropriation Bill


The speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Ude Okochukwu, has announced the passage of the state’s 2015 appropriation bill of more than N105 billion.

Hon. Okochukwu who made the announcement during the House plenary session in Umuahia, said the appropriation bill shall be deemed to have come into effect on January 1, 2015.

Earlier while presenting the report of the budget to the House, the chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Mr. Martin Azubuike, said that the committee had recommended that adequate machinery be put in place for proper collection of the state revenue.

He noted that the 2015 budget will improve the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR) and the living conditions of the people.
