Jay Z was sued July last year by his sound engineer, Chauncey Mahan, who claimed he was the sound engineer instrumental to creating the sound for a number of Roc-A-Fella’s biggest recordings, including The Life and Times of S. Carter and The Dynasty album. Mahan claims he was a key producer and creator of Roc-A-Fella’s entire body of work between 1999 – 2000 and Jay has been in court with Mahan, who was holding the masters to The Life and Times of S. Carter and The Dynasty albums.
There were 41 tracks, 31 with Jay and 10 with Beanie Sigel and Mahan, as sound engineer on the albums, claimed ownership and stashed boxes of tracks in a San Fernando Valley storage facility. According to TMZ, cops eventually seized the masters from the former Roc Nation staff but
