Ghana name final Afcon squad
Ghana coach Avram Grant has named his final 23-man squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
Grant has included Mpumalanga Black Aces utility player Edwin Gyimah and Maritzburg United defender Mohammed Awal in his unit, as well as former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Fatau Dauda.
The Israeli has notably dropped Ibrahim Moro, Kwabena Adusei and Samuel Inkoom, and drafted in Norway-based striker Mahatma Otoo following an injury to Majeed Waris. Jeffrey Schlupp also misses out due to injury.
Star striker Asamoah Gyan will lead the side, with Andre Ayew, Jonathan Mensah, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Mubarak Wakaso also providing valuable experience for the West African giants.
The Black Stars, four-time continental champions, have been paired with South Africa, Algeria and Senegal in Group C of the competition.
Grant's men will open their campaign against Senegal in Mongomo, Equatorial Guinea, on January 19.
