We were chased by armed men —Danku
The Publicist of Oritsefemi, Tijani, has described a blog’s report that the musician was under the influence of alcohol and ran into a parked articulated vehicle, bashing his Range Rover Sport gift just few hours after he was presented the SUV by his management outfit, Avatar.
T.J, as he is popularly called, had earlier stated that “unknown armed robbers chased Oritsefemi to crash early Saturday morning on Ikorodu Road, Lagos”.
Oritse was said to be going for a meeting with Big Brother Africa’s officials in order to perform at the grand finale of the event in South Africa last Sunday.
Anybody who is peddling this wicked story should pray for such an accident to happen to him at this time of the year, said the enraged media practitioner. How can one lie about an accident that could take life? he asked.
Debunking the story that Oritse was drunk while driving, T.J said it was the manager, Danku, that drove the SUV, while he made sure the SUV was towed around 3a.m that Saturday Yusuf ‘Danku’ Adepitan, on hospital bed, not only confirmed to R via phone chat on Friday that he drove the SUV, but insisted that he noticed unknown gun men chase him on Funsho Willams Road, Surulere, and when the suspected gunmen approached them, they ordered him to stop the car at gun point. “I refused to and stepped on the pedal in attempt to escape. It was while struggling with the robbers that a truck hit the vehicle accidentally,” he said.
“The driver’s side was smashed. He was also hit in the chest through side. The airbag came out immediately”, Oritsefemi added.
“I was at the back the back seat with my brother. I quickly cried for help before Good Samaritan rushed out from unknown area in Surulere to rescue Danku who had already been in coma. He could neither talk nor see anyone at the point”.
Danku would not reveal the name of the hospital he has been admitted.
