It was an outpouring of grief and tears penultimate week’s Thursday, when comedian, MC Longs, was finally laid to rest in Jos, Plateau State.
Commenting on the life and times of the comedian, rib cracker, Julius Agwu, said he was a hardworking man whose life was suddenly cut short.
“I was devastated when I received the news of his death. When I was shown the pictures of his car, I urged people to pray for him. It is sad that a young man who was trying to earn a descent living had his life suddenly cut short just when he began to taste the first fruits of success. It is tragic that life was snuffed out of him at this point. He performed at my last show in Abuja in September and I will miss him greatly.
“I saw him as a promising comedian,” Agwu continued adding “when I met him two years ago I could see his talent shining through so I put him on Crack Ya Ribs and he gave a good account of himself.
“He was just beginning to make a name for himself when the cold hands of death snatched him and now he is no more. He graced the Port Harcourt and Abuja editions of Crack Ya Ribs and I was going to take him to the US for the American version but death came and took him; rest in peace my friend.”
Unfulfilled dreams
On what kind of a person MC Longs was, the rib cracker says: “He was a very humble, respectful and friendly . He was very popular in Jos where he was a household name. He had a big show coming up on 30 November which he christened Longs Must Be Crazy, a show the entire people of Jos were looking forward to.”
On what he will miss about the comedian Agwu added: “We chatted everyday on BB. I will miss his unique style of comedy which set him apart. He was very humble and very committed to his dreams.”
