The government said on Friday, October 31 that it is suspending visa applications for residents and nationals of countries with "widespread and persistent-intense transmission" of the Ebola Virus Disease.
Canada’s Health Minister, Rona Ambrose said via a statement that the country’s "number one priority is to protect Canadians."
Australia had previously come under fire for issuing such a ban and also refusing to send aid workers from its country to help battle the disease which has killed almost 5000 people in West Africa.
