We Won't Probe Sanusi, Soludo Over Their Tenures As CBN Governors - Presidency

              

The Presidency on Monday refuted social media reports that the tenures of Lamido Sanusi and Charles Soludo, as Central Bank Governors, would soon be probed by the Federal Government.

The social media reports, published on Sunday and Monday, alleged that the Federal Government had concluded arrangements to probe the tenures of the two former CBN governors over their views on the state of the nation’s economy.

Truck Kills Robber While Attacking Passengers In Lagos

                 
A suspected robber has been crushed to death by a truck at the Ojo Lowo bus stop in the Ijanikin area of Lagos State, while allegedly raiding some bus passengers.

Punch Metro learnt that the suspect, whose name had yet to be ascertained, along with other hoodlums, had at about 10.30pm on Friday stood at the bus stop to waylay bus passengers.

A 14-year-old Pennsylvania boy has been accused of fatally shooting his grandmother because he didn't want to go to school.

Hunter R. Reeser, of Harborcreek Township, is being charged as an adult with first-degree murder.

Authorities say he shot 60-year-old Sandra Orton with a .22-caliber rifle on Tuesday. He then called her husband and claimed he found her wounded.

Magnitude 6.1 quake hits central Italy,entire town of Amatrice feared buried

 

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck central Italy early Wednesday, with reports of damaged buildings and blackouts near the epicenter Rieti and residents fleeing their homes and running into the streets.

The quake struck just after 3:30 a.m. and was felt across a broad section of central Italy, including the capital Rome where people in homes in the historic center felt a long swaying followed by aftershocks.

Daniel Kevin Harris was pulled over for speeding on Thursday after cops said he led them on a brief pursuit in Charlotte, North Carolina. As the 29-year-old stopped close to his home a state trooper pulled his gun as Harris got out of his car.

WHO would have imagined that prices of kerosene would one day become a thing of so much worry in Nigeria? Who would have contemplated that a commodity, which went for as low as N50 per liter a couple of years ago would so soon sell for between N200 and N250? (A respondent even said he bought it at N300 in his area in Lagos not too long ago; arguing that what sold for N200 was the 60cl beer bottle measurement.) Now that was the equivalent of a dollar just a few months ago; and in a country where most people live below a dollar per day, it leaves a lot of questions about the people’s chances of survival.

The car fell more than 10 feet before it landed upside down in the water - with the force of the impact believed to have knocked all four people on board unconscious.
Locals frantically jumped in and tried to smash the windows and rescue them as they slowly submerged under the water.

Woman Sets Guinness World Record with 17 Month Long ‪‎Pregnancy

            
A woman from ‪‎China‬ allegedly set a Guinness World Record recently with her 17-month-long--and counting--pregnancy.

According to People's China Daily, the woman, named Wang Shi, became pregnant last February. Her due date was Nov. 15, but the date came and went with Wang's baby showing no intention of entering the world.

Security operatives in South Africa are currently on the trail of some unidentified young men who broke into a Christ Embassy Church branch in South Africa at the wee hours of the day during which they made away with some exotic appliances.

An online awarness has also been launched on the lethal social media with the video footage of their crime uploaded on Youtube, Instagram and other content sites to smoke them out of their hiding.

A total of 549 tons of used clothing being smuggled from Hong Kong to Shenzhen in China has been seized by the police. The goods are worth about US$1.65 million, according to the police. Most of the clothing were collected from overseas morgues, garbage dumps and scrap yards, and would have been sold to consumers after washed and repaired.

A 23-year-old young mother simply identified as Wu, has reportedly terminated her 6-months pregnancy after finding out she was carrying a mermaid-like foetus in her womb when she was examined by doctors in Yichang City, in Central China's Hubei Province.

According to a shocking report by Dailymail, the lady's scans showed that her unborn child did not have two legs, but instead had a 'tail' like growth, and also did not have a bladder and had a stunted liver.

22-year-old boy jailed for stealing groundnut oil


An Egor Magistrate Court in Edo State has handed a two-year jail term to a 22-year old man, Evans Ewansesehia for stealing three gallons of groundnut oil.

Police prosecutor, Sergeant Sunday Lucky, told the court that the convict committed the offence on November 17, 2015 at Idemudia Street, off Lagos Street in Egor local government of the state.

According to CrossRiverWatch the woman identified as Monica dumped the baby at about 2:30 PM Thursday, last week with some clothes left at the Altar after the district Reverend of the church, Francis Agianpuye had given her N1,000 some days earlier.

Court remands man for beating wife to death over sex



AN Ado-Ekiti Magistrate’s Court has remanded a 42-year-old man, Josiah Johnson, in prison custody for allegedly beating his wife, Julianah, to death for denying him sex.

A middle-aged man, Simon Akor, has told a Nyanya Customary Court, Abuja, that his wife, Patricia, demands money before allowing him to make love to her. Simon said this when he testified in a divorce petition against his wife on Tuesday.

Hulk Hogan Settles $140m Case Over Leaked Sex Tape As Pay Out Makes Media Company Bankrupt



HULK Hogan is in talks to reach a settlement for his leaked sex tape.

The former wrestling champion is set to bag a whopping $140m, which is the equivalent of around £97m.
Hulk – whose real name is Terry Bollea – had originally sued for $100m but this was bumped up an extra $15m after a jury decide it wasn’t enough.

The extra dosh is made up of $15m from Gawker Media and $10m from site owner Nick Denton.
