GTB Must Pay N14bn Judgement Liability, Innoson Insists
The management of Innoson Motors has insisted that Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) is by the June 7 ruling of the Supreme Court liable to pay the sum of N14bn to the Deputy Chief Register of the Enugu Division of the court of Appeal, who shall pay same into an interest yielding account pending the determination of the banks appeal.

Edo State Civil Defence Kill One, Arrest Two Suspected Robbers
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Edo State, today have killed one person and arrested two other suspects, who robbed at Ikpoba Slope in Benin.
The Public Relations Officer of the corps, Mr Efosa Ogbebor, who briefed news men in Benin said that the hoodlums were among a gang of robbers that robbed motorists on the Benin-Auchi highway at Ikpoba Slope yesterday.

PMB Shifts Democracy Day To June 12
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday directed that effective from next year, Nigerian Democracy Day, marked every May 29 for the past 18 years be now shifted to June 12. The idea, according to the president is to honour an illustrious son of Nigeria, the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Abiola, who won a presidential election, conducted on the said date in 1993, but was prevented from taking office when the results were annulled.

Pregnant cow sentenced to death for illegal border crossing
A pregnant cow will be executed as a result of crossing from her European Union farm in Bulgaria into the non-EU Serbia.
Daily Mail reports that Penka, a pregnant red cow who is due in around three months’ time, wandered westwards away from her herd near the village of Kopilovtsi, straying over the border into non-EU Serbia.

Passenger accused of groping woman and urinating on seat in front of him during Frontier Airlines flight
A "drunk and unruly" passenger groped a woman on a Frontier Airlines flight on Thursday and urinated on the seat in front of him after being shifted to the back of the plane, authorities said.
Michael Haag began making crude comments to the female passenger after ordering a double shot of vodka and tonic during the first drink service of the flight from Denver to Charleston, according to the federal criminal complaint.

Teacher arraigned for defiling minor with pencils
A 36-year-old teacher, Lilian Ahaneku, was on Thursday brought before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly inserting three pencils in the private parts of her six-year-old pupil.
Ahaneku, who resides at 6, Alhaji Gudus Giwa St., Eyita, Ikorodu, Lagos State, is facing a charge of indecent assault.
