Newlywed goes on honeymoon without his bride after she lost her passport before the trip
Indian couple Faizan Patel and his wife Sana were preparing to leave for their two-week trip to Italy earlier this month when Sana discovered her travel documents were nowhere to be found.
So, Faizan was forced to start the first leg of their holiday on his own.
The photographer tweeted an image of himself travelling on a train with a picture of his wife on the chair next to him for company.
He captioned the image:
UK launches 24-hour visa service in Nigeria
The United Kingdom has launched a Super Priority Visa Service in Nigeria to allow customers to process applications within 24 hours.
The British High Commission, in its website, said the new service would meet the needs of those requiring urgent service to travel.
British High Commissioner in Nigeria Paul Arkwright, according to the website, hailed the introduction of the Super Priority Visa Service in Nigeria.

A middle-aged man, Simon Akor, has told a Nyanya Customary Court, Abuja, that his wife, Patricia, demands money before allowing him to make love to her. Simon said this when he testified in a divorce petition against his wife on Tuesday.

A machete-wielding man shouting "Allahu akbar" (God is the greatest) wounded two policewomen in the southern Belgian city of Charleroi on Saturday before being shot and injured, local police said.
One of the policewomen was taken to hospital with "deep wounds to the face" while the other was slightly injured, Belga news agency said.

There are around 60 women in the village with hair three feet long with one villager's locks measuring seven feet long.
Huangluo village in Guangxi province is home to the Yao ethnicity which is characterised by their red embroidered dresses and their long hair.
CBN resumes dollar sales to BDCs today
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will today resume dollar sales to Bureaux De Change (BDCs) seven months after it stopped the practice.
It stopped the sales last January because of what it called dollar scarcity and abuse of operating guidelines.
Speaking to The Nation yesterday, Aminu Gwadabe, Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON) President, said nearly 3,000 BDCs are expected to access dollar from the CBN today.

Igbo traders protest murder of colleague
Commercial activities were paralysed in Kano yesterday as Igbo traders across the 44 local government areas of the state shut their shops.
The traders’ action was to protest the alleged killing of Augustine Tochukwu Ilo, 42, a patent medicine dealer, by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

Gunmen rob Lagos police inspector, two shot dead

Kogi jailbreak: Six escaped prisoners rearrested
The Controller-General of Prisons, Ja’afaru Ahmed, has announced that six out of the 13 prisoners that escaped from the Koton-Karfe prison in Kogi State have been rearrested.
Ahmed noted that the six pre-trial detainees were recaptured with the assistance of other security agencies and local vigilante groups.
CBN begins enforcement of dollar sales to BDCs

Man Dies From Snake Bite Then Wakes Up At Funeral Before Cremation
A young man in India who was presumed to have died after being bitten by a snake rose up from the funeral pyre at the moment it was set on fire.
The 23-year-old man, named as Sandeep, was attacked while collecting wood from the forest. When he arrived back in his village in the Raisen district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, he told his family about the snake bite.

With barely any room to move, thousands of swimmers escaped a heat wave in China by cramming into a pool on one of the hottest days of the year in the south-western city of Chongqing.
According to the Shanghaiist ,government meteorologists had issued an orange alert - the second-highest level on the country's heat scale - for the fourth consecutive day as the temperature peaked at a sweltering 40C
