Three suspects assisting Kaduna Police with investigations over burning of church in Zaria
Three suspects are now assisting the Kaduna State Police Command in its investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the burning down of Christian Evangelical Fellowship of Nigeria (CEFN), No. 53 Galma street, Sabon Gari, Zaria.
It was alleged that on Thursday morning, an eye witness informed the Pastor of the Church, Pastor Samuel Jacob that the Church was on fire.

Igbo traders protest murder of colleague
Commercial activities were paralysed in Kano yesterday as Igbo traders across the 44 local government areas of the state shut their shops.
The traders’ action was to protest the alleged killing of Augustine Tochukwu Ilo, 42, a patent medicine dealer, by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Ilo from Umunze in Orumba-South of Anambra State, was shot by two men identified as SARS operatives from Bompai Police Headquarters, last Wednesday.

A Nigerian Birmingham City University student Anu Yusuf wore two important outfits - her wedding dress and a cap and gown, on the same day. And this was partly because they did not adhere to 'African time'.
Anu Yusuf, aged 26, received her Law LLB in a ceremony at Symphony Hall alongside hundreds of her fellow students on Wednesday 27 July, wearing a traditional cap and gown.

Alexander Peter Cirk, 41, refused to leave Changsha Huanghua International airport in Hunan after his online girlfriend, known as Zhang, failed to turn up.
Mr Cirk was eventually taken to the hospital suffering from physical exhaustion, according to Hunan TV.

Gunmen rob Lagos police inspector, two shot dead
There was confusion on Monday on Okunola Road in the Idimu area of Lagos State after suspected armed robbers unleashed mayhem.
PUNCH Metro learnt that a police inspector, who had just left a commercial bank in the area around 11.45am, was attacked and robbed by a three-man gang, which came on a motorcycle.

Kogi jailbreak: Six escaped prisoners rearrested
The Controller-General of Prisons, Ja’afaru Ahmed, has announced that six out of the 13 prisoners that escaped from the Koton-Karfe prison in Kogi State have been rearrested.
Ahmed noted that the six pre-trial detainees were recaptured with the assistance of other security agencies and local vigilante groups.
CBN begins enforcement of dollar sales to BDCs
To increase the volume of dollar in the market and stabilise the naira, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) may compel banks to sell foreign currency proceeds of international money transfers to Bureaux De Change (BDCs).

Man Dies From Snake Bite Then Wakes Up At Funeral Before Cremation
A young man in India who was presumed to have died after being bitten by a snake rose up from the funeral pyre at the moment it was set on fire.
The 23-year-old man, named as Sandeep, was attacked while collecting wood from the forest. When he arrived back in his village in the Raisen district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, he told his family about the snake bite.

A man identified as Jacob Nwachukwu has reportedly cut off his wife’s left hand over an allegation of infidelity at Abala in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
It was gathered that the victim, Nwadiokeonu Nwachukwu, is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital in Aba, while her severed hand had been taken to her husband’s village at Abala for burial.

Man rapes church member after her birthday party
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 31-year-old man, identified only as Damilola, for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman on Omole Estate, in the Ojodu area of the state.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the victim, Favour (pseudonym) and Damilola were members of a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and the woman had invited the suspect to her birthday party on Tuesday, July 19.

Malawi arrests man paid to have sex with 100 children
Malawi police have arrested an HIV-infected man who was paid to have sex with more than 100 adolescent girls as part of a traditional ritual marking their passage to womanhood, officials said Tuesday.
Eric Aniva, from the southern district of Nsanje, was held after giving a media interview confessing to have slept with the girls for a fee of between four and seven dollars, paid by each of their families.

FAAC: FG gives breakdown of amount 36 states received in May
The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) allocation to state governments in June, obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) showed that Lagos State topped the states with N6,082,690,933.64 as total net amount received from the Federal Government.
NAN reported that the allocations were shared in June as revenue collections accrued to the account in May.

Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, in a lecture he delivered at the investiture of Mr. Dele Ojogbede as President of Rotary Club, Ikoyi in Lagos, said, it is illegal for former governors, who have been placed on life pension in their states, to also earn salaries in the National Assembly.
He also said that lawmakers should not be paid their full salaries and allowances if they don't sit for the mandatory 181 days before going on a seven-month recess.

EFCC Arrests 3 Undergraduates Over N16m Fraud
The EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, has arrested five suspected undergraduate scammers. Four from the Federal University of Technology Akure, (FUTA) and one from Adekunle Ajashin University, Akungba, (AAUA). They were picked up at an Off- Campus Residence located at Anuoluwapo Close, Stateline Hotel Road, off FUTA South Gate, Akure, Ondo State.
They suspects who are between the ages of 20 and 23 include: Adeleke Paul, 21, Adebiyi Tayo Abudu, 22, Akinsanmi Olusola Adeniyi 21, Ogundile Ademola James, 23 and Okali Ugochukwu, 21.

Ooni of Ife blasts critics who mocked him for calling Jesus ‘his father’
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has responded to critics, who are ridiculing him for calling Jesus his father, when he knelt to worship God during a thanksgiving after his coronation.
The picture of him on his knees, with a caption: ‘Jesus is my father’ caused a stir on the social media, with users calling him a hypocrite; but the Ooni says he is not moved by mere criticisms.
Ex-Councillor, 54, Defiles Seven Year Old Girl in Delta State, Nigeria
A 54-year-old former councillor of Sapele Local Government Council in Delta State, Mr. John Onose, has been arrested by the police for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl.

Those Crippling Sins
There are some issues in marriages which, if not addressed, can be crippling to the marriage. These are the “biggies.” They may manifest themselves in other ways, but if you could trace back to the origin you would find these to be at fault.
Left to fester on their own, these sins will eventually be the destroyer of the marriage or certainly keep it from achieving the oneness God commanded.
JESUS! Malnourished little boy rescued after he was chained in a Celestial church for weeks
On the 22nd of July 2016, at about 10:30hrs at Ajibawo in Ado odo OTA division 2, NSCDC officers rescued a boy named Taiwo Korede aged nine years old, who had been chained for weeks at Celestial Church of Christ key of Joy Parish Ajiwo.
The case has since been transferred to the appropriate authority for further investigation. More traumatizing pics after the cut.
NAFDAC impounds N15m sex stamina drugs, others
The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control has in its recent operations in Gembu, Taraba State impounded unregistered drugs worth N15 million.
The impounded drugs included Tramadol and Sildenafil combination.
Joseph Asikpo, the state Co-ordinator of the agency, made this known at a media briefing in Jalingo on Friday.

Man Buries Lover Alive Which Has Now Made Her Unable To Speak & Walk Well
Stacey Gwilliam, from Swansea, was left for dead by her partner Keith Hughes. He had buried her on the Swansea Bay coastal path between Bracelet Bay and Langland Bay in July last year.

Eric Aniva, who would not reveal his exact age, lives in the Nsanje district of southern Malawi where he works a sex worker.His work - known as a "hyena" - is embedded into the sacred traditions of his village.
There, young women are regularly "cleansed" by having sex with a hyena, sometimes as punishment for an offence such as having an abortion.
