FAAC: FG gives breakdown of amount 36 states received in May



The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) allocation to state governments in June, obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) showed that Lagos State topped the states with N6,082,690,933.64 as total net amount received from the Federal Government.

NAN reported that the allocations were shared in June as revenue collections accrued to the account in May.

EFCC Arrests 3 Undergraduates Over N16m Fraud

       

The EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, has arrested five suspected undergraduate scammers. Four from the Federal University of Technology Akure, (FUTA) and one from Adekunle Ajashin University, Akungba, (AAUA). They were picked up at an Off- Campus Residence located at Anuoluwapo Close, Stateline Hotel Road, off FUTA South Gate, Akure, Ondo State.

They suspects who are between the ages of 20 and 23 include: Adeleke Paul, 21, Adebiyi Tayo Abudu, 22, Akinsanmi Olusola Adeniyi 21, Ogundile Ademola James, 23 and Okali Ugochukwu, 21.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has responded to critics, ‎who are ridiculing him for calling Jesus his father, when he knelt to worship God during a thanksgiving after his coronation.

The picture of him on his knees, with a caption: ‘Jesus is my father’ caused a stir on the social media, with users calling him a hypocrite; but the Ooni says he is not moved by mere criticisms.

CBN directs banks to sell forex to Bureau De Change operators

On the 22nd of July 2016, at about 10:30hrs at Ajibawo in Ado odo OTA division 2, NSCDC officers rescued a boy named Taiwo Korede aged nine years old, who had been chained for weeks at Celestial Church of Christ key of Joy Parish Ajiwo.

2 Women Arrested For Begging With 'Rented Babies in Lagos

                                  

Two women were yesterday arrested in Oyingbo, Lagos, for using babies to beg for alms.

Three babies who are less than one month old were recovered from them.

Hadiza Nosiru and Salamotu Salitu were arrested by the monitoring team of Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development.

NAFDAC impounds N15m sex stamina drugs, others


The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control has in its recent operations in Gembu, Taraba State impounded unregistered drugs worth N15 million.

The impounded drugs included Tramadol and Sildenafil combination.

There, young women are regularly "cleansed" by having sex with a hyena, sometimes as punishment for an offence such as having an abortion.

20 Year Old Woman Gives Birth to 3 Sets of Twins in 26 Months


A 20 year old Kansas woman has given birth to three set of twins in a little over two years, with the latest born last month.

“People just consider me a freak of nature when I tell them,” said the 20-year-old mom, who apparently has a condition in which she releases more than one egg per month.

Couch delivered two boys 26 months ago but one of them died from complications of premature birth. Fourteen months later, twin girls Delilah and Davina, were born. The third set, Dalanie and Darla, both girls, were born last month. They came home after three weeks in neonatal intensive care.....

A Kano Magistrates’ Court today denied bail to the five men who allegedly killed 74-year-old Mrs Bridget Agbahime in Kano on June 2. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Agbahime was murdered at Kofar Wambai Market, Kano, over alleged blasphemy.

The accused persons: Dauda Ahmed, Abdulmumeen Mustafa, Zubairu Abubakar, Abdullahi Abubakar and Musa Abdullahi, were charged with inciting, disturbance, culpable homicide, joint act and mischief.

Pensioner accidentally leaves his wife of 47 years behind in an airport

  

A forgetful pensioner accidentally left his wife in an airport and jetted off to Spain on holiday without her, only realising he had left her behind when he landed.

Maurice Hunter, 80, from Plumstead in south London, thought wife Carolyn, 70, had already boarded the plane at Stansted Airport while he popped to the toilets.

Youth Corper Charged to Court for Repeatedly Having Sex with Married Woman

 A National Youth Service Corps member named Bonaventure Okeke, has been arraigned in a Gudu Upper Area Court, Abuja for allegedly committing adultery.

Okeke, who resides in Jahi 2 Market area of Abuja, was arraigned on a one-count charge of committing adultery with one Anozie Chinenye on Monday.


                                             

The plaintiff who is husband to Chinenye, Emeka Anozie of Hayingada Saminaka, Kaduna State, made a direct criminal complaint to the court against the defendant on March 24.

Anozie made his complaint through his counsel, Obioma Achilefu.
The plaintiff said the defendant, knowing that he is legally married to Chinenye, committed adultery
with her on December 18, 2014.
He said the defendant was confronted on the issue over the cell phone and he confessed to have had sex with Chinenye once.

Guard arrested for raping pupil on school premises

The police have arrested a security guard of a public school in Lagos, Adeniyi Primary School, Itire, for allegedly raping an eight-year-old pupil.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the 40-year-old suspect, Friday Oshoba, aka Mopol, committed the alleged crime while the primary 2 pupil, Mercy (pseudonym), was waiting for her sister to pick her up after the school closed around 2pm.



Oshoba was said to have persuaded her to follow him to a deserted spot within the school and removed her underwear. He reportedly raped her afterwards.

It was gathered that a class five pupil, identified only as Bukola, who was sent on an errand by a schoolteacher, caught the guard in the act and reported to the teacher.

AU finally launches single passport for Africans



The long-awaited African Union (AU) passport was on Sunday launched at the opening ceremony of the 27th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the AU Summit in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Assembly is made up of heads of states and governments of the 54 member states of the AU.

Turkey rounds up generals, judges after failed coup


Turkish authorities were on Sunday rounding up dozens of generals as well as senior judges and prosecutors accused of supporting a failed military coup aimed at ousting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.The government has already said that almost 3,000 soldiers had been detained on suspicion of involvement in the putsch which began on Friday night but faltered already in the early hours of Saturday.

NTV television said that 34 generals of various grades had been detained so far. They include senior figures like Erdal Ozturk, commander of the third army and commander of the Malatya-based second army Adem Huduti.

A 25-year-old armed robbery suspect, Alidu Shola, who was arrested by the police has expressed surprise that the police arrested him for stealing a tricycle without being caught in the act. In his confession, Shola said:

“I am a driver by profession. I came from Osun State. I was arrested in my area where I used to rest after my daytime job. I did not expect the police as my visitor. I was enjoying my drink when the police came. See, I really stole the motorcycle but it was a long time ago. I carried the Keke (tricycle) to where I later sold it to one Aboki N60, 000 and used the money to feed.
