China has said it seeks more crude oil exports from Nigeria in spite of the recent changes in oil prices.

South Sudan lets fighters rape women as payment, the UN rights office said Friday, describing the country as "one of the most horrendous human rights situations in the world."

"The assessment team received information that the armed militias... who carry out attacks together with the SPLA (South Sudanese army) commit violations under an agreement of 'do what you can and take what you can,'" the rights office said in a new report.

Handful fresh mint leaves
1 garlic clove, peeled
15ml (1 tbsp) freshly grated root ginger

Says AGF usurping powers of NCC

The House of Represen-tatives Committee on Telecommunications is insisting that the initial N1.04 trillion fine imposed on MTN Communications Nigeria Limited for failing to disconnect 5.2 million unregistered subscribers on its network must be paid in full, instead of the reduced penalty of N780 billion.

The Nigerian Communica-tions Commission (NCC) slapped the N1.04 trillion fine on MTN last October, but later reduced it to N780 billion and gave the network provider till December 31, 2015 to pay up after the company had pleaded for leniency.

Labour unions in Nigeria’s oil sector, the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas (NUPENG) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), have called off their strike with immediate effect.

The unions had shut offices of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, nationwide following the announcement of its unbundling by minister of state for petroleum, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu.
