The Police in Ogun have arrested a nurse, Adebola Titilayo, for stealing a new born baby shortly after delivery in Arogun village, Ogun state in desperation to have a child for her wealthy husband.

Adebola who is the proprietress of a private Maternity in Arogun community in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state, was apprehended by Police detectives attached to the Ewekoro Division of Ogun State Police Command.

No fewer than 14 persons died yesterday in a road accident at Amasiri Secondary School junction of the Afikpo-Okigwe federal road in Afikpo South LGA of Ebonyi State.

5 'witches' beaten to death in India

Dozens of villagers in eastern India beat to death five women on Saturday, accusing them of practising witchcraft and blaming them for a series of misfortunes in the village, police said.

Residents of Kinjia village in Jharkhand state dragged the women out of their homes and beat them with sticks and iron rods, said Arun Kumar Singh, a deputy inspector general of police in Ranchi, Jharkhand's capital.

Fear about the return of militancy in the Niger Delta yesterday enveloped Bayelsa State following a daring attack by unknown gunmen on a military base at Ogbolomabiri in Nembe Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

Being Addicted to the Internet Makes You More Likely to Get Sick

A new study has found that spending a bunch of time on the internet weakens the immune system, making internet addicts more likely to get sick.

Researchers at the universities of Swansea and Milan studied 500 people between the ages of 18 and 101, and found that those who reported ‘excessive’ internet use had 30 per cent more cold and flu symptoms than those who reported moderate internet use.

At least five Malian soldiers are believed to have been killed in the operation to end the siege at the Hotel Byblos in Sevare, which is popular with UN peacekeeping staff.

A source told AFP that "a number of hostages" were freed by Malian forces, including the five foreigners, although their nationalities were not specified.

The young girl had gone with her parents to the church for the monthly vigil when the pastor lured her into a private room attached to the church and forcefully had his way into her.

The engine of a Delta airline plane heading to Cincinnati from Nashville caught fire at a Nashville airport in the US this morning. The fire started when the pilot turned on the engine. The passengers were immediately evacuated from the plane with no one injured or any casualties.

A FORM Three pupil at St Bernard's High School in Bulawayo has been arrested for allegedly fatally stabbing his aunt after she confiscated his cellphone.

The pupil aged 17 from Pumula South suburb, allegedly killed his 46-year-old aunt with a kitchen knife on Wednesday evening over the cellphone which was said to contain pornographic material.

The teenager lived with his aunt because his mother is in South Africa where she works.

He is alleged to have stabbed the aunt once in her left cheek and under her left eye.

Police in Ogun state will henceforth shoot armed cultists and “ritualists” at sight, the state command announced Thursday.

The commissioner of police, Abdulmajid Ali, gave the order shortly after parading 23 suspected criminals at the State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, saying that the command will not tolerate ‎the rising cases of cultism and ritual killings.

He said the shoot-at-sight order will not amount to extra-judicial killing because the intention of armed criminals is either to kill or maim.
