VIDEO: Polyamorous Family Open Up On Their Four-Way Relationship

A GROUP of polygamists have spoken out about their lives in a bid to teach people that monogamy isn’t for everyone.

In a new video, one man and three women who are in a polyamorous relationship, explain how they live their lives.
Dating website Relationship – which caters to swingers, polyamorous couples and “ethical cheaters” – launched the footage as part of their #AcceptLove campaign.

The people behind the campaign are hoping that it will break down stigma. The makers also think that acceptance of polyamory will be the next step in “mainstream queer liberation” following the recent legalisation of gay marriage in the US.

The “polyfamily” is made up of Josh, Sarah and Alyssa who all live under one roof as well as Mary Ashley who lives apart.
After explaining how they met, the four individuals insist “jealousy is not an issue”.

Josh and Sarah were both previously in open relationships before they met and began seeing each other. Then Alyssa joined the pair followed by Mary Ashley who was looking for a polyamorous relationship.

The foursome want people to know that it’s not “weird” or a kinky fetish.
Sarah said: “My family views it more like a mental illness than a relationship.

“[People] associate it a lot with kink, they think we’re sexaholics or slutty. I’m actually quite modest.”

It’s seen as sinful and immoral and wrong,” added Mary Ashley.
They all agree that “you can’t expect to get everything you need from one person” and enjoy what each individual brings to the relationship.

“Once you realise that that fairytale story is not the only story then so many worlds open up for you,” Sarah said.

OpenMinded shared another video featuring a “polytriad”. Joy and Terry had been together for years before deciding to open up their relationship. Then they became involved with Valerie.

The trio discussed their desire to get married if it becomes legalised.
