Kidnapping, our headache in Bayelsa – Police commissioner

As the Police Service Commission promotes 15 officers serving in the Bayelsa State Police Command, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Nasiru Oki, has said kidnapping remains the main challenge of the force in the state.

He, therefore, challenged officers and men of the command to double up their efforts to fight kidnapping to a standstill.

The General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed his prophecies for 2016, which include the emergence of a new sexually transmitted disease and the aversion of a major war.

Adeboye made 11 revelations, which according to The Cable, were contained in a newsletter by Liveway Radio.

The Theater Command of Operation Lafiya Dole of the Nigerian Army on Friday alerted Borno residents on a planned attack by Boko Haram terrorists using beggars and other strategies.

The statue made of marble is bigger than the 20 metres (66 foot) Ramesses ii Abusimbel statue in Egypt.

2015 will go down as an eventful year for the Nigerian movie industry better known as Nollywood. The year has recorded some good, bad and ugly moments. Why Okezie Ikpeazu Lost Abia Governorship At Appeal Court

The Court of Appeal, sitting in Owerri, has removed Okezie Ikpeazu of the Peoples Democratic Party as governor of Abia State.

The court also declared Alex Otti of the All Progressives Grand Alliance the winner of the April 11 and April 25 supplementary elections in the state.

Delivering judgment in an appeal filed by Mr. Otti, the five-member panel, headed by Justice Oyebisi Omoleye, said the APGA candidate scored 164, 444 valid votes to defeat Mr. Ikpeazu who scored 114, 444 votes.

A 60-year-old man has been arrested by Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Abigi community located in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of the State.

A Uyo-based clergyman, Rev. Friday Phillip, has been kidnapped in his native Oron council area of Akwa Ibom State and his abductors have demanded a N50 million ransom for his release.

Minister of State for Petroleum Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachukwu has raised Nigerians’ hope about the dwindling oil revenue, with the news that the United States will now buy some crude from Nigeria.
