Kidnappers of Jonathan’s cousin reduce ransom to N40m

Abductors of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin and Bayelsa Commissioner for Local Government, Madam Serefina Otazi have allegedly reduced their ransom from N100 million to N40 million according to family sources.

Security sources had disclosed recently that the kidnappers are demanding N100 million to release Otazi.
A family member, Mr Endurance Frank, disclosed yesterday that the kidnappers had contacted the family and were now demanding N40 million ransom to free her.
Frank said the family was relieved to hear from Otazi and appealed to the kidnappers to free her unconditionally.

Meanwhile, there is still anxiety over the whereabouts of Dickson’s sister, Nancy Dickson who was abducted 24 hours earlier than Otazi.
Nancy’s whereabouts since her abduction remain unknown as she spent Christmas with her abductors who have refused to make any contact with the family.
