Passenger flights from 12 African nations, including Nigeria, will restart on Saturday, according to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In a tweet published on Wednesday, the UAE’s National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority (NCEMA) confirmed the development.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Emergency Management Authority said the travel ban has been lifted for passengers coming from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Republic of Congo, South Africa, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe.

The country imposed travel restrictions in December in response to the emergence of the COVID-19 Omicron strain.
