British man gives 4-star review to his night in jail in viral Facebook post

A British man gave four stars to his night behind bars.

Christian Willoughby posted a Yelp-style review of the Grimsby Police Station after getting locked up for what he described as a “misdemeanor” on a March 9 Facebook post.

“I've given this place 4 stars,” wrote the pert perp on the Wednesday morning post, alongside six photos of his cell that he said he took on an cellphone.

It’s unclear why the device wasn’t confiscated when he was confined.

“Took a phone into the cell bud ... Without them knowing,” he wrote on a separate Facebook post.

The primary snap - which he briefly made his Facebook profile picture - shows him standing beside his jail cell door.

He also shared snaps of the sparse yellow bunk where he spent the night.

“Room was nice, the minimalistic idea was a nice touch,” he cracked.

Willoughby’s Facebook post giving four stars to his night behind bars has gone viral.

A shot of the cage’s stainless-steel toilet bowl without a seat or lid inspired the comments, “Had my own on-suite room and butler... Who would come with tea and newspapers.”

And you can’t beat the clink for feeling a sense of security. “It was secure and safe... Quadruple glazing and security door,” he wrote, showing shots of the reinforced windows and a sign on the walls advertising drug counseling. “Ideal place for winding down after a hard day.”

A picture of a slimy-looking bowl of chow, which looks like chili con carne, drew his only complaint.

“It’s the all day breakfast that lets it down really,” he wrote. “Apart from that the staff are pleasant enough.”

Willoughby wrapped up with, “I’d definitely come back.”

He might have to. The Humberside Police are investigating how he managed to smuggle a mobile device into his cell, according to the Daily Mail.

“The force are aware of pictures apparently of the Grimsby Custody Suite on social media,” said Chief Inspector James Glansfield, confirming Willoughby was in custody on the day in question.

“We take any such breach of security and detainee safety extremely seriously,” he added, “and will be carrying out a review of our detainee management to identify any lessons learned and prevent further reoccurrences in the future.”

The unappetizing “all-day breakfast” tray received his only complaint.

Neither Willoughby nor the police department responded to requests for comment.

The post has been shared on Facebook more than 5,500 times, and Willoughby commented that he was turning his phone off.

The authorities have apparently suffered similar lapses in security before. A man named Richard Mason shared his own “cellfie” under Willoughby’s original post. The room in his picture has similar-looking windows.

“Thought it was just me that did this haha!” wrote Mason.

The Grimsby Telegraph reported that this isn’t Willoughby’s first brush with the law. He has a number of previous convictions, including theft, burglary and assault.

And some of his friends’ comments suggest he’s visited the Grimsby cells before.

“What u in for now?” asked Chris Kerr.
