FCT Minister Denies Link With Attacks On Jonathan In Bauchi

The Minister of FCT, Sen. Bala Mohammed, on Monday denied insinuation that he sponsored thugs that attacked the PDP Presidential Campaign team in Bauchi.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Nosike Ogbuenyi, Senior Adviser on Media to the minister in Abuja.“The attention of the minister has been drawn to an allegation by the Gov. of Bauchi State, Malam Isa Yuguda.

“Yuguda alleged that the minister was the sponsor of the thugs that attacked the presidential campaign team of President Goodluck Jonathan in Bauchi on Thursday, Jan. 22.

“It is simply irrational for Yuguda to allege that the minister hired thugs to stone and embarrass himself (minister) while addressing the presidential rally in his home state.’’

According to the statement, “by this claim, Yuguda has proven correct the allegation that he has been hobnobbing with the APC at night and running with the PDP in daytime.

“We wish to state categorically that based on his personal convictions and principles, Mohammed cannot sponsor thugs to stone himself or his boss, President Goodluck Jonathan.

“Mohammed, therefore, said all well-meaning Nigerians should disregard Yuguda’s “outrageous allegation’’.

The statement said that the minister had no apology whatsoever for consistently supporting his principal, President Jonathan.

“He supports him because he believes in Nigeria’s oneness and peace as well as the Transformation Agenda of his administration.

“The minister will never be deterred by attacks on his person and the malicious fabrications by selfish, mischievous and insincere politicians’’, the statement said. (NAN)
