The student, identified as MEA in media reports, was arrested after he accused the Erdogan and members of his ruling AK Party (AKP) of corruption.
According to media reports, the teenage student made the allegations while delivering a speech in the central Anatolian city of Konya, a stronghold of Erdogan's Islamic-rooted AKP, last Wednesday.
The speech was reportedly in memory of a young secular teacher who was killed by Islamists in 1930.
Student Pulse gathered that the student faces up to four years behind bars if convicted of the charges brought against him.
Erdogan, a former Prime Minister, became President in August.
It will be recalled that Erdogan's government was shaken by a large corruption scandal about a year ago.
Four ministers were affected by the dragnet, facing accusations of bribery.
