Fight between Instagram influencer and boyfriend ends with his fatal stabbing inside luxury Miami apartment: police
An altercation inside a Miami high-rise between an Instagram influencer and her boyfriend turned deadly over the weekend.
Authorities responded on Sunday to One Parasio Residences, a luxury apartment building in the city’s Edgewater neighborhood, to reports of a stabbing, a spokesperson for the Miami Police Department told the Daily News on Friday. When they arrived on the scene just before 5 p.m., they discovered 27-year-old Christian Obumseli suffering from a knife wound to the chest.
He was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he died a short time later, police said. It was just one week before his 28th birthday.
Obumseli’s girlfriend — identified by friends as 25-year-old Courtney Clenney — was also “located at the scene and interviewed” by law enforcement officers. They believe the violence was triggered by a domestic dispute.
“The preliminary investigation determined that both Mr. Obumseli and the female had been involved in a physical altercation,” police said.
Video obtained by TMZ reveals the bloody consequences of the violent fight. It shows a blonde woman, clad in a blood-covered bra and cut off sweats, seated on the floor of the luxury apartment in handcuffs.
Authorities have not identified the woman, but Obumseli’s attorney, Lee Merritt, has alleged it’s Clenney, who also goes by Courtney Tailor online. She has more than 2 million Instagram followers and is a popular OnlyFans model.
“My face thinking about a fresh set of talons... what color should I get?” she captioned her most recent photo, adding a nail-painting emoji at the end.
Friends told NBC 6 that Obumseli and Clenney lived together in the luxury apartment building and that they had just moved to the area from Texas within the last couple years. They also confirmed that the pair were in a relationship, but that it could often be volatile.
“We’ve seen her hit him,” pal Ashley Vaughn told Local 10. “I’ve never seen him hit her.”
“From what we’ve personally experienced between the both of them, we believe that Christian wouldn’t put her in a position where she would need to stab him to protect herself,” she added.
One neighbor, who said he has a clear view of the couple’s apartment, claimed things recently seemed off between the pair, and that Clenney was actually the one getting physically abused. Others said authorities have previously been called to the building to resolve their domestic disputes.
“I could not tell if it was open-handed or closed-handed, but he was swinging at her,” he told Local 10.
Clenney was taken into custody after the stabbing and repeatedly threatened to kill herself. She was ultimately detained under the Baker Act, which allows law enforcement, as well as doctors, mental health professionals and judges, to commit a person to a mental health treatment center for up to 72 hours if certain violent or suicidal tendencies are displayed.
No arrests have been made in the case. Authorities declined to provide further details, citing an “ongoing investigation.”
