Caitlyn Jenner's 'I Am Cait' pulled off TV screens in Africa


It has been confirmed that E! Entertainment and NBC Universal have canned the second of Caitlyn Jenner's reality show I Am Cait in Africa after the Nigerian Broadcasting Authority banned the show in the country.The show, which takes viewers on Caitlyn Jenner's transgender journey, has been apparently been pulled in Nigeria after the broadcasting authority received complaints.


The show being canned in Nigeria subsequently affects the rest of Africa as it is understood that there is only one feed for the continent.

MultiChoice confirmed that the show, which currently airs on DStv channel 124 and GOtv channel 26 has been canned amidst concerns from some customers.

"MultiChoice recognises the importance of respecting the views of its customers and all regulatory environments within which its service operates. After careful consideration, MultiChoice would like to inform its valued subscribers that the show will no longer air on the channel across our platforms," read part of the statement.

E! Entertainment issued a brief statement around the issue stating that it stands by the diverse range of content it produces across the world.

"E! stands by the diverse range of content it produces and broadcasts around the world. As an international channel, we recognize that regulatory environments vary across the world and we always seek to comply with regulations in the countries where we broadcast. As this matter relates directly DStv and the Nigerian regulatory authorities, this issue is for their comment," read the statement.
