I forgot how to play football under Mourinho – Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas has admitted that he, “forgot how to play football,” when Jose Mourinho was still Chelsea coach.

Mourinho was sacked for a second time at Stamford Bridge in December, after what the club’s technical director, Michael Emenalo, described as “palpable discord” between the players and management.

Fabregas himself had to deny reports claiming that he was working against Mourinho in the Portuguese’s final weeks. But the Spaniard insists that his poor performances were due to loss of confidence.

“There was a moment after the Bournemouth game where I was in bed. I was so disappointed, so sad, and I said to my wife: ‘I just forgot how to play football,'” Fabregas told Goal.

“It wasn’t me out there. You have the ball and you don’t know what to do with it.

“Those two or three months were hard. I wasn’t feeling confident at all.”
