A Wanted Fugitive Sends Selfie to Police 'Claiming His Mugshot Was Unflattering'

A WANTED man sent police a selfie of himself after they posted an "unflattering" picture of him on social media.

Fugitive Donald "Chip" Pugh sent the Lima Police Department a private message with a picture to replace the mugshot authorities had released.

Pugh, from Ohio, wrote: "Here is a better photo, that one is terrible."

Humouring the request, the cops then released Pugh's selfie mugshot along with his official photo on its Facebook page
They said: "This photo was sent to us by Mr Pugh himself.

"We thank him for being helpful, but now we would appreciate it if he would come speak to us at the LPD about his charges."

Thanks to the power of social media & tips called into authorities, we have learned that Donald Chip Pugh has been arrested by the Escambia County Sheriffs Office in Florida. He is being held for warrants out of Columbus, Georgia, which he was out of the pick up radius for in Ohio but not in Florida. Alas we will wait our turn. Thank you to Escambia County & to those who provided information and continue to support law & order. Escambia County Sheriff's Office

The 45-year-old was later arrested in Florida following a tip off, cops said.

Officials said Chip is wanted for missing a court appearance, and is a person of interest in a few other cases – including arson and vandalism.
