Man Shot to Death While Attempting to Collect Money Owed Him

The Enugu State Police Command have commenced investigations over the murder of one Michael Ayogu by another man that was owing him.

It was gathered that deceased was shot with a gun by one Onyema Mama Idoko of unyi Ette in Igboeze North local Government Area of Enugu state when he came to collect the money that the suspect was owning him.

The deceased, it was further gathered was a farmer and was cutting palm nuts for the suspect until his death.

When contacted, the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amaraizu said operatives of the Homicide section of the state criminal intelligence and investigations Department have commenced a full scale investigations into the sad development.

“It was further gathered that the alleged incident took place as the deceased identified also to be a farmer that works for the suspect through the cutting of his palm nuts, had allegedly gone to collect his money owed him by the suspect that the suspect used his gun and allegedly shot him on the mouth which caused the death of the deceased.

“However,on noticing the incident,youth of the area pounced on the suspect before police operatives arrived the scene.Meanwhile,the dead body of the deceased is now deposited in a nearby hospital mortuary for autopsy while the suspect onyema mama Idoko is helping the police in their investigations” he stated.
