Xenophobia victim commits suicide after wife falls for another man

A Zimbabwe man who appears to have fled South Africa to escape xenophobic violence committed suicide after finding his wife had fallen in love with another man.

The Mirror reports that Stephen Mbirikira hanged himself at his in-laws' homestead.

Sources told The Mirror that Mbirikira who had three wives was working in South Africa.

When he arrived home he went to visit his third wife Tendai Murinye.

They had a fight because she was no longer interested in the relationship because she was allegedly in love with another man.

According to The Mirror Mbirikira later tried to apologise and then hanged himself when he couldn't convince Murinye to accompany him home.
