President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday visited former military President, General Ibrahim Babangida in his country home in Minna to discuss matters concerning Nigeria and other private issues.

Although security men barred journalists from entering the premises to cover the visit, a source, however, told NAN that the visit was a private one between the two, adding that “matters concerning the country were in discourse.
“When such visit happens, you know definitely issues concerning the country will be discussed. This is no exception.
“But largely, it is a private visit by Mr President to a worthy Nigerian like IBB,” the source added.
A political analyst, Babatunde Adeniyi, however believes that Jonathan’s visit to Minna is more political. “With 2015 election around the corner, Jonathan’s visit is a silent form of campaign,” he said.
NAN reports that security was tight in the state capital since late Friday when stern looking security men began arriving in Minna. Two helicopters also hovered around the state capital.
Jonathan’s entourage was seen leaving Minna at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
