Pastor Kumuyi
General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, William Kumuyi, has urged politicians to always respect the people’s wish once election has been concluded.
Addressing journalists at Deeper Life Camp,
Ado-Ekiti, at a three-day revival, Kumuyi expressed his displeasure in
situations where office seekers resort to violence whenever they lose
elections.
At the event anchored by a pastor, Debo Taiwo, the man of God warned Nigerians against voting along ethnic and religious lines in 2015.
Kumuyi,
who said the measure remains the best way to elect credible leaders for
Nigeria to have a sigh of relief, advised his members to collect their
Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for them to participate actively in
electing leaders that would shape their collective destiny.
“Nigerians must be careful in electing their leaders in 2015. We must not vote based on ethnic or religious sentiment.
“People
should vote based on the credentials of the leaders. We have to look at
the records of those that are contesting for us to elect credible
leaders that will bring development.
“It
won’t be wise for people to start voting for somebody because he is from
your area or is a member of your church. This is the more reason why
people should speak through the ballot by participating actively in the
electoral system”.
